Step No.

1
Perform following tests
Sp.G of C.A= e.g. 2.79
Sp.G of F.A = e.g. 2.64
Sp.G of Cement= e.g. 3.15
Fines Modulus of F.A= e.g. 2.80
Density of Cement=1000 Kg/m3
Dry Roded Unit Weight=1634 Kg/m3
Water Cement Ratio=0.48 Given
Amount of Cement= 375 Given
According to ACI Chart for Non Air Entrained

F.M 2.40 2.60 2.80 3.00

9.5 mm 50 % 48% 46% 44%
12 mm 60% 58% 56% 54%
25 mm 71% 69% 68% 65%
39 mm 76% 74% 72% 70%

Step No.2
Volume of Cement
Mass/Specific Gravity of Cement= 375/3.15 =0.119 m3
Step No.3
Volume of Water
W/S Ratio * mass of cement= 0.48*375=180 Kg
Mass of H20/Density of H20= 180/1000= 0.18 m3
Volume of Water=0.18 m3
Volume of Cement=0.119 m3
Total Volume of Both= 0.299 m3
Step No.4
Now to find volume of fine and course aggregate materials
1-0.299=0.700 m3
Now, According to Table if FM is 2.8 and max. Size is 25 mm than aggregate will be 68%.
Now
0.68*1634=1111 kg
Mass/Sp. Gravity= 1111/2800= 0.397m3 Volume of Course Aggregate
Step No.5
Now 0.397-0.70 =0.304m3 Volume of Fine Aggregate
Now mass of Fine Aggregate= 0.304* 2630=800 Kg as sp. Gravity is 2.63
So Final Conclusions
Cement 375 kg
Water 180 kg
Course Aggregate 1111 kg
Fine Aggregate 800 kg
Aggregate should be dry and absorption of both aggregate should be known beside water
cement ratio
