PRIORITIES USA STATEMENT ON HOUSE PASSAGE OF TRUMPCARE

WASHINGTON, DC - Priorities USA released the following statement from Chairman Guy Cecil in
response to the passage of the American Health Care Act that would take health insurance
away from 24 million Americans, increase health care costs nationwide, and eliminate
protections for people with pre-existing conditions.

TrumpCare is so heartless and ill-considered that it calls into question why these members of
Congress entered public service in the first place. House Republicans just voted to shred the
guarantee of coverage for Americans with pre-existing conditions and gut funding for Medicaid
in exchange for tax cuts for millionaires and insurance companies and its imperative that they
be held accountable. Priorities will work relentlessly to inform voters of their representatives
support of the bill, which our research has shown will be deeply harmful to their re-election
prospects in 2018, as well as to ensure it remains an issue for upcoming Senate and Governor
races.

Priorities is continuing its previously announced digital ad campaign running in nine states
whose elected officials represent key votes in the debate. Vulnerable Republican House
members in these states like Reps. Martha McSally (AZ-02), Carlos Curbelo (FL-26) and Lloyd
Smucker (PA-16) will be targeted in the buy. The ad campaign will be comprised of pre-roll,
social and search advertising and will be targeted to voters who would be adversely affected by
their representatives reckless vote in favor of the health care repeal bill.

The ad campaign is informed by Priorities USAs extensive research on the Republicans health
care proposal, which showed that when voters in swing districts are told that their Republican
member of Congress supports the plan it results in a net 13-point movement away from the
Republican in the vote for Congress. Priorities also found that voters across the ideological
spectrum are paying high levels of attention to the effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act,
especially the drop-off Democratic voters and swing voters who were crucial to Donald Trumps
victory in 2016. The more these voters hear about the bill, the less they like it, and as the health
care debate continues, Priorities is committed to making sure voters know the truth about the
devastating consequences of the GOP plan.

Below are the results of a new web panel of 1,115 people conducted from April 28 to May 1 by
