SUBJECTS/ TOPICS OF LICENSURE EXAMINATION
IN THE PHILIPPINES (AS
OF AUGUST 2012)
Note: Reference elsewhere in the Latest Publications section of the PRBoA Website at
www.architectureboard.ph the respective Tables of Specifications (ToS, showing the required types of test
questions for extraction) of the 2 State Licensure Examinations. Use the Topic Guide to locate the ToS and
other desired files if necessary.

State Licensure Examination for

ARCHITECTS (LEA)
Note: The LEA, with its four hundred and fifty
(450) questions, is the only State licensure
examination in the Philippines that is one hundred
percent (100%) about the VERTICAL components of
the built environment i.e. the physical planning and
architectural design of buildings/ vertical structures
and their sites/ environs.

State Licensure Examination for

Civil Engineering
Note: The State licensure examination for
civil engineers is mainly about the HORIZONTAL
components of the built environment. While there
are questions about the structural design and
construction of the vertical elements of the built
environment, there is absolutely NO question asked
about the architectural planning or design of a
building or its grounds.
