Good Morning every body.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome Principal Mr. Dsouza, parents, staff

members and students on the second day of the 13th Annual Athletic Meet of
NISV.

It is the strong commitment to track and field, and to the development of our
youth, is the reason why we have all gathered here . This event speaks for the
commitment that all of us in the school hold for the sport. I am sure that we
will witness athletic performances of the highest quality over the course of this
championship. Do your best and compete in the spirit of sportsmanship and
fair play. And take the opportunity to come closer to each other.

Once again today, each athlete will pit his or her skill and talent against his
opponents from other teams. But we hope the participants will also make the
most of this wonderful opportunity to showcase best athletic talent and spirit of
comradeship.

We would like to give special praise and congratulations to the Sports staff
which has exposed you to rigorous practice sessions. Their efforts have
contributed in raising the overall standard of school sports competitions and
building stamina. Today we are going to see some very exhilarating moments
and we encourage everyone to enjoy it and applaud whole heartedly.Fun and
excitement are guaranteed.

Any sporting event is incomplete without its school squad marching with
confidence, show-casing team spirit, discipline and co-ordination and a sense of
belonging and pride for its House. As the Students of every house get ready for
the march past, and follow the commands of the council members, they are
reminded that they are being allotted points for the days marching on the basis
of smartness, reception to commands by house captains and synchronization
with the beat, not to mention the overall turn out. These points will add up to the
final tally of points today, which will determine who walks away with the final
trophy for the Best house (March Past). The confidence, grit and focus with
which they stand are an indication that they wish to give a tough fight. At
the far end of the ground are the four houses Nurturers, Inquirers, Seekers
and Venturers

some compassion, some humor, and some style.
Promising an eventful day, where many records will be equaled and new

Sports events such as this are meant to showcase the collective talent of the
youth rather than only recognizing winners. A winner exists because someone
dared to stand up and lose. For a height there has to be depth. I think the thrill of
life is in holding up both.
