REFLECTION PAPER FOR SOIL MECHANIS ENGINEERING

Soil Mechanics Engineering (CE 401), I took up this course last year (2015-2016), in this
course I learn a lot that only in that course will be absorb; some of topics of these subject will help me as a civil
engineer someday. In this Course, My Profesor is Engr. Cabornay, he is a Geodetic Engineer and a part time
professor in TIP-Manila. By the way, in our course he taught us a lot of topics that will be applied in the field of our
specialization, these topics are very helpful and as a student it is honor to know or have a preview of what a
Geodetic Engineer did in the Field of Specialization and how it is in important to implement it in the Field. The
topics that he taught to us are; the different types of the soil, determine the type of soil, the different properties of
the soil and also how to determine its properties, consistency limits of soil, and lastly some different types of soil
test that we may encounter in the field as a geodetic engineer. These Topics that our professor taught us help us to
have a short preview of what are the geodetic engineer doing in the field and also to know what are the basic that we
need to know as a Geodetic specialization, I myself learn from this course that may I used in the next subject that I
may encounter not only in the school but also in the board exam, and also in the field.

As I evaluate my professor in these course (CE 401), how did he taught us and how it is
effective on us, Our professor Engr. Cabornay taught us very well, he discuss anything clear, example how some
formula derive and also what are the limitations of the formulas that may used in that subject, and also he share us
some experience that he encounter in the site as a Geodetic Engineer, also he share us some story that may help us to
imagine what we are studying or let say relating the story of what topic that we may discuss in that day, also he is a
funny guy that make sure that some day if he is your professor sure that you may laugh of what he is joking. In his
exam you must study hard therefore you may get a good grades, because his examination is so hard, then the sad
thing is there is no quiz that may have a chance you to pass his course because the exam on him is only the major
examination examples are prelim, midterm and finals only. It is hard if you fail in the major examination, because
there is no quiz that may allow your grade to be up in the passing grade, but the good thing is there is some
experiments that may allow your grade to be a passing grade. He is so strict in the attendance in the experiment once
you are late in the time of experiment you may get 0 grade on that particular experiment, that may allow you to be
failed in that course, because these are the only activities that you may allow your grade to be passing grade. Being
his student it is so pressure but a lot a excitement that you may give all of your best to be passed in his exam and do
all the experiments therefore you may passed on this course.

As my suggestion to my professor; that he may not be change of what the technique that
he may used in teaching his/her students and also he may continue to to do what he want that there is no quiz only
the major examination, and lastly be funny as always. And for the suggestion for the next of student that may get the
course that he is the professor; that they may study hard and harder therefore they may passed his course and be
industrious as always, do all of the experiments that may allow their grade to be in passing grade, be sure that may
absorb some topics that may the professor teach to them, because it will be the short preview of in the field that we
may have been chosen.
 REFLECTION PAPER FOR REINFORCED CONCRETE DESIGN

Reinforced Concrete Design (CE 502), this course all about how to design a reinforced concrete examples are;
beams, columns and slab. I took up this course last semester (2016-2017), in this course I learn a lot that only in that
course will be absorb, almost all of the topics in this program will be used as a Structural Engineer, I will be a
structural engineer someday. In this course my professor is Engr. Delima, he is a Design Engineer and full time
professor at TIP-Manila. In this course he taught us a lot of topics that we used in our work in near future as a
Structural Engineer, and also a short preview of what does the Structural Engineer doing in the field of
specialization and how it is important to implement it in the field. The topics that our professor taught us in these
courses are; Design of Beam, Design of Columns, and also Design of Slab; these topics are so important for a
Structural Engineer. These topics that our professor taught us is so effective, so as to have a short preview what are
the Structural doing in the field of specialization and also how these topics applied in the real life (in field). I myself
I learn about of what our professor taught us, that may I used for next subject that I may encounter, that also needed
what I learn in these course not only in the school but also in the board exam and may also in the field.

As I evaluation my professor in these course (CE 502), how does he taught us and how it is
effective on us and some technique may have used in teaching a student. Our professor Engr. Delima, taught us very
well, he discuss the topics one by one and clearly; example he discuss how does the formula derive and also what
are the limitations of that particular formula, and also he has a much example that surely you may get what is the
main idea of the topic or what you must absorb in that topic. Also he told us some stories that may relate in the
topics that helps us to imagined what we are studying and also to take some short preview of what we are doing in
the near future. Once he will be you professor surely you may gain more knowledge in that particular course,
recommended professor for all of the design subjects. He give a hard and harder quiz and examination, you must
study harder for you to pass his course. Being his student it is so pressure like a pressure cooker, but a lot of
excitement you may give all of your best to passed in his exams and quizzes and do all of the activities that he may
told you to do therefore you may pass in his course.

As my suggestion to my professor, that he may not change of what technique that he may used in
teaching in his student it is effectively that surely all of this student will study hard for them to pass the course,
continue to teach because he is need to build up the future structural engineer a effective structural engineer
someday. And suggestion for the next student that may get the course that he is the professor, that may study harder,
for them to passed to examination and quizzes and also be industrious as always, do all of the activities that may he
given to you, pass all that he wants to pass, absorb all the topics that he may taught because it is important in the
field of the specialization and lastly respect him because he is a good professor, he is so effective professor.
