2) Project Scope Statement


To address the commercial needs of residents of DHA Islamabad, a 4 storey commercial building is constructed in
DHA Islamabad, having all the allied facilities like parking basement, lift, and escalator and trolley ramp

2.1) Project In-scope


The following are considered In-scope for this project.

Construction of a 4 Storey commercial building located on an area of 10,000sqft


All the structural work containing RCC, will be the part of the project
All the Steel used in the Structure will be of Grade 60
The compressive strength of concrete should be 3000psi
All the concrete should be made in Batching plant
Procurement and fixing of tiles/ marbles on corridor area is the part of the project.
All the necessary Plumbing and Electrical Conduits embedded in RCC, should be done
Railing along the stairs is the part of the project.
Procurement and installation of washroom tiles and fitting are included in the project
The building should have a parking basement with a capacity of 500 vehicles and all the allied
facilities of lift, escalator and trolley ramps
Safety of Labor working at the site is contractors responsibility.
The contractor should get security clearance of all the labor and staff working on the site from
DHA security department.
The building should follow DHA by-laws

2.3) Project Out-scope

The following are considered Out-scope for this project.

Getting services (water, electric, plumbing) is not a part of the scope, as it is a clients
responsibility
Work permits required for execution of work is clients responsibility
Interior of shops are not the part of our scope
Marketing of building for shops, food court and cash and carry is not the part of our scope.
HAVC is not the part of the scope.
Electrical and Mechanical connections and fittings are not the part of the project.
Internal paint and External cladding wont the be part of the projects scope
Firefighting fittings procurement and Installation wont be in the scope of the project

2.4) Project Assumptions


The following assumptions apply to the DHA Mega Mall Project. As project planning begins and more
assumptions are identified, they will be added accordingly.

Payments will be made, without any subsequent delays.


DHA organizational body will provide alternative route for material dumping and storage.
DHA will provide security.
Project has executive-level support and backing.
All department heads will provide necessary support for successful project completion.
The weather will remain pleasant throughout the excavation period
No health and safety mishap will take place at site

2.5) Project Constraints


The following constraints apply to the DHA Mega Mall Project. As project planning begins and more
constraints are identified, they will be added accordingly.

Time is the biggest constraint in this project and a time period of 9 months is given for this
project.
The budget for construction of DHA Mega Mall is 200 Million PKR.
As the site is located in DHA Islamabad, the traffic police of Islamabad dont allow the HTVs from 6am to
12am. Hence the transportation of all the material including Sand, Crush, Cement and Steel should be
done during 12am to 6am at night.
As Rawalpindi and Islamabad is having a military set up, so security clearance of all the labor coming to
construction site should be done.
