INSTRUCTION AND GENERAL INFORMATION FOR MULTI INSTALLATION

In this new installation program for Scania Multi there are tree DVD:s.

DVD 1 contains the Multi application, database and some of the file data.
DVD 2 contains language specific file data.
DVD Prerequisites contains the Sql Server installation and other third party products.

DVD 1 must be installed before DVD 2. If all third party products are already installed, there is no need
to run the installation of the DVD Prerequisites. If some third party product is missing when installing
DVD 1, the user will be prompted to first run the DVD Prerequisites.

NB. The installation is a time consuming process and could take up to 1 hour per DVD, depending on
hardware etc.

Installation of DVD 1

The first dialog is recognizable from the earlier installation programs. Just read the terms and if you
accept them, click in the tick box and then click "OK" button to initiate the installation.
If some prerequisites are missing during the installation of DVD 1 the dialogue below is shown to the
user. Click Cancel and insert the DVD Prerequisites.

If the installation program detects an older version of Multi, the Install Multi application checkbox will
be checked. The other checkboxes are checked by default.

If the prefilled locations for the Multi application directory and the common directory for Multi data are
fine, press the Next button to continue the installation.
This is the easy way to install Multi.

If there is a need to uncheck one or more of the checkboxes, see illustration below
Click on the button named "Advanced". Now it is possible to check and uncheck different choices.

This information dialog will be shown on screen until the installation is complete. The symbols will
change when the particular part of the installation is completed.
Installation of DVD 2. (The following pages applies only to the installation of Multi Authorized
and Multi Service)

The installation of DVD 2 starts in exactly the same way as the DVD 1 installation. You have to click in
the checkbox and the "OK" button to initiate the installation of DVD 2.

The installation dialog for DVD 2 only shows what can be installed from that disc.

In the same way as with DVD 1, the "Advanced" button may be clicked if changes are necessary.

Click Next to continue the installation.

This information dialog will be shown on screen until the installation is complete. The symbols will change
when the particular part of the installation is completed.

Installation of DVD Perquisite.

The installation of DVD Prerequisites starts in exactly the same way as the DVD 1 and DVD 2
installations. You have to click in the checkbox and the "OK" button to initiate the installation of DVD 2.

If all prerequisites utilities are installed, the dialog below will be shown on top of dialog above. In this case, all
prerequisites is installed. In this case, the user can click on the Cancel button. It is also possible to click on the
Back button to re-install any utility from the DVD Prerequisite disc to overwrite the current installation of this
utility.
As shown below, all prerequisites are installed. In the case where one or more prerequisites is not installed,
the checkbox for this item will be checked.

In the same way as with DVD 1 and DVD 2, the "Advanced" button may be clicked to reinstall any item.
