Biography

Valencia Vuyiseka Kheswa is a praise singer performance artist, community and cultural activist. With a career that spans
over 20 years, several countries, numerous accolades, and a few generations. She continues to inspire audiences today via
her local performances and via performances and workshops about arts and culture. Most recently, she hosted a multi
discipline arts and culture workshop in November and December of 2015, to facilitate access to the arts for marginalsied
artists and communities, the workshop Kwasa Call to the Arts was a huge success. She is regularly called upon to share her
wisdom and life. Her life-long vision remains clear. She consistently champions the beauty and greatness of African people
wherever they are in the world. Her mission is to raise accessibility to the arts and their glory and in so doing vibrate that
thread of humanity that links all.

To Create a space and or platform for long-term, sustained and regular contact between marginalized artists, arts
professionals and participants to allow time to consolidate new skills and benefits that flow from involvement in
their programs.
Linking arts programs with other services (for example, health services or counselling) and opportunities (for
example, jobs or more relevant educational programs) to improve the uptake of other services required to improve
health and wellbeing outcomes, or behavioural change.
Ensuring broad access to support structures, inspirational programs, as well as sustainability after external funding
ceases.

Valencia Vuyiseka Kheswa (Novensi Stage Name) was born in Queestown in HEWU District in rural areas. She has been
performing since the 1980s. She has performed at many National and International events including the "Black and white in
colour" which was a 3-day South Africa festival in Copenhagen celebrating the first 10 years of democracy in South Africa.
This was an anniversary well worth remembering. The festival had a programme packed with movies, workshops, an African
market as well as lectures and debates with guests from
South Africa. She is also in community uplifment. Through
an organization she founded, Novensi Organisation , Which
deals with Orphans and Vulnerable Children, Youth Skills
Development, Girls and Young Women, Elderly people,
Refugees , Hiv/Aids and Resource centre for Arts and Culture
She is a Poety , Musician ,Dancer , Actress and a Writter, She
had recorded many Theme song for the Local Government
