Planning Information
The digital intercom central GE 200 combines different functions of modern
internal communication such as intercom, information and control in one
system. By means of subscriber cards with different feature levels and addi-
tional interfaces the central can be adapted to the individual needs with ease.
Range of Application
As office intercom central with all 2-wire and 4-wire intercom stations (with
or without display). As door intercom system with central control functions
and integrated CCTV cameras. As emergency call system with transfer over
telephone lines (e.g. for elevator emergency call stations, parking houses,
officer emergency call etc.). As checkout intercom for supermarkets and
warehouses. As parking areas intercom with emergency call points, barrier
control and linked video cameras. As mini-control desk system for order
preparation and processing in distribution and industry.

The maximum line capacity for cables not listed in this table is 90 nF. This
capacity refers to: A against B, C against D, C/D together against A as well
as the single lines A, B, C, D against an eventual shield (ground). This capa-
city can be measured with a multimeter with open end of the line: A against
B, C against D, C/D together against A, A against shield, B against shield, C
against shield and D against shield. All these capacity values may not be hig-
her than 90 nF.
Programming cable
For programming of the GE 200 a 9-way D-Submin elongation cable is re-
quired (1:1, plug on central side, socket on PC side):

This cable can be purchased at an electric outfitter or ordered under the type
X-KAB-CCT.
Subscriber Cards
All station specific functions are handled by the subscriber cards. The subs-
criber cards are available in different feature levels: B, C and D. The cards of
the higher levels contain all the features of the lower ones plus additional
features. An overview of the features can be found in the manual Fea-
tures.
The subscriber cards can be mixed in the central as desired. In case of a con-
versation between subscriber cards of different levels only the features of
the subscriber card with the lower level are available.
All subscriber cards are equipped with plugable terminals.
Attention: As soon as 4-wire subscribers are used a link card G2-GEK2-3
is required. If only 2-wire subscribers are used, link cards are
not required. See also Link cards on page 8.
Link cards
A link card is required for two reasons:
1. If a GE 200 (GEZ 200) contains 4-wire subscriber cards, one link card G2-
GEK2-3 is necessary.
2. If features like Reception of several music programs, Conference or
Radio conference are used, additional link cards G2-GEK2-3 are requi-
red (for music 4T1 no link card is required, feeding via music input).
Available per link card G2-GEK2-3 (a maximum of 3 G2-GEK2-3 in one
GE 200 with GEZ 200):
2 duplex controllers (only two duplex controllers can be used in the central,
that means, from more than one cards only the A/D converters can be used).
3 A/D-D/A converters (a maximum of 9 A/D converters can be used)
If only 2-wire subscribers are used, no link card is required.
Available in the GE 200 (including GEZ 200)
48 digital audio lines
12 analogue audio lines
The different types of conversation require a different number of audio li-
nes, the free lines are allocated dynamically (see Dynamic Audio Link Con-
trol on page 8).

LED blinking fast: during initialization.
LED is permanently off: no power, reset or hardware fault.
LED is permanently on: reset or hardware fault.
LED blinking in rhythm definition error ( ):
at least one wrong or missing plug-in card.
The LED of the expansion central GEZ 200 is switched on permanently, and
is not used as status indication, only as indication for the connected power
supply.
The GEZ 200 has no own ON/OFF-switch, it is switched with the ON/OFF
switch of the basic central GE 200.

2. Connect the PC to any housing of the central and read out the pro-
gramming of the central with the program CCT (menu Central -
Receive...). Now all cards are recognised correctly and the central can be
programmed as usual. For programming the PC can be connected to any
housing, all housings are programmed like a single central.
