C. Description (refer to the figures 2 to 3)

This actuator has two independent electromechanical assemblies that

comprise every one:

- A motor,

- A brake,

- A gear reduction train assembly,

- A mechanical override system,

- A control command circuit,

- A common supply connector,

- An output gear for the horizontal movement,

- A screw/tube-nut assembly for the vertical movement,

- Two mechanical stops for the vertical movement,

- Two electrical stops for the vertical movement,

- A mechanical stop for the manual control levers,

- An housing and several plates.

(1) Motor

The motor is a three phases asynchronous type of 115/200 V

AC-400Hz. This motor includes essentially two windings that permit
the rotation in the two directions.
The stator part is directly installed in the housing.

(2) Brake

The brake is a lack-of-current electromagnetic brake which stops

the motor when it is not supplied.
The brake is installed on the end of the rotor axle of the motor.
It is attached on the housing with four screws.

(3) Gear reduction train assembly

(a) For the vertical movement

It is a three-stage spur gear reduction-train.

The first and the second stage axles turn on ball bearings.
The third stage is machined on the tube-nut and drives it in
rotation.

(b) For the horizontal movement

It is a four-stage spur gear reduction-train.

The stage axles turn on ball bearings.
The forth stage axle has the output gear that transmits the
movement to the seat.

(4) Mechanical override system

It comprises essentially:

(a) A calibration system that comprises 5 spring washers that

permit to adjust the value of the load on the clutch.

(b) A multi-disc clutch system that permits to use a manual

control lever to command the seat.

(5) Control command circuit

The control command circuit includes essentially the safeties. It

manages the brakes and the motors from the information that they
received from the electrical controls.

(6) Common supply connector

A nine-pin connector permits the connection of the control command

circuits with the electrical supply of the aircraft and the pilot
control unit of the seat.

(7) Output gear for the horizontal movement

The output gear receives a rotating movement through the gear

reduction train.
This output gear turns on a rack gear, installed on the seat, and
changes its rotation movement into a linear movement of the seat.

Page 13

COMPONENT MAINTENANCE MANUAL
413629000(-)

(8) Screw/tube-nut assembly for the vertical movement

The third stage, machined on the tube-nut, drives it in rotation.

The tube-nut turns on the screw whose end is attached on the base
of the seat.
This screw that cannot turn changes the rotation movement into a
linear movement of the actuator in the selected direction.

(9) Mechanical stops for the vertical movement

Two mechanical stops, installed at the ends of the screw, limit

the stroke in low and high positions when the manual control lever
is used.

(10) Electrical stops for the vertical movement

Two micro-switches, installed on two supports, limit the stroke in

low and high positions when the motor is used.

(11) Mechanical stops for the manual control levers

Each manual control lever has a mechanical stop that prevents the
user to do an overload on the internal mechanism of the actuator.

(12) Housing

The housing, made of aluminium, holds all the components of the

actuator and assures their protection.
This housing is closed with the low and high plates.

TASK 25-11-01-870-802-A01
2. OPERATION (refer to the figures 2 to 4)

Subtask 25-11-01-870-004-A01
A. Vertical movement

When the electrical power is applied, this causes at the same time:

- The release of the electromagnetic brake.

- The rotation of the motor in the selected direction, after a

delay.

Then:

- The rotation of the tube-nut through the gear reduction train and
the mechanical override system,

- The vertical translation of the tube-nut and the actuator. The

actuator attached on the pilot seat drives the latter in the same
direction.

Page 14

PRECILEC
COMPONENT MAINTENANCE MANUAL
413629000(-)

Two end-of-stroke microswitches limit the stroke of the tube-nut in low

position or in high position by cutting off the supply of the motor and
the brake, through the control command circuit.

A manual control lever permits to declutch the mechanical gear train:

then, it is possible to move the seat to the low position or the high
position by pushing or pulling.

Subtask 25-11-01-870-005-A01
B. Horizontal movement

When the electrical power is applied, this causes at the same time:

- The release of the electromagnetic brake

- The rotation of the motor in the selected direction, after a

delay.

Then:

- The rotation of the output gear through the gear reduction train
and the mechanical override system. This output gear that turns on
a rack gear, installed on the seat, changes its rotating movement
into a linear movement of the seat.

A manual control lever permits to declutch the mechanical gear train:

then, it is possible to move the seat forward or backward and right or
left.

INTRODUCTION

TASK 25-11-01-990-801-A01
1. GENERAL

The function of this Illustrated Parts List is the identification of

equipment assemblies, sub-assemblies, and parts.

This Illustrated Parts List agrees with standard ATA 100.

When equipment is changed, added or cancelled, the Illustrated Parts List is

revised. And, when a revision is done, the letter R is written on the left
of each revised line. The revision is applicable only at the specified date.

TASK 25-11-01-990-802-A01
2. HOW TO USE THE IPL

A. Publication format

The IPL is put in the sequence that follows:

- Introduction,

- List of Manufacturers (VCI - Vendor Code Index),

- Index of circuit symbols (EDI - Equipment Designator Index),

- Numerical index (NI/NUM),

- Illustrated Parts List.

B. Designation method

(1) List of manufacturers

The list of the manufacturers is put in alphanumerical sequence on

the basis of the manufacturer's code. This list contains the names
and addresses of all the manufacturers specified in the
nomenclature.

(2) Index of Equipment Designators (circuit symbols)

This index contains the related reference and diagrams of each

circuit symbol and the related marker.

The circuit symbol designation is alphanumerical and is written in

the sequence that follows:

- Letters from A through Z.

- Numerals from 0 through 9.

INT 10001 Page 1

COMPONENT MAINTENANCE MANUAL
413629000(-)

(3) Numerical index

The manufacturer's reference designation (Part Number) is

alphanumerical and is arranged in the following order:

- Dash,

- Letters from A through Z.

- Numerals from 0 through 9.

With this index, manufacturer's reference (PN) begins with a

letter and a numeral.

C. Manufacturer's reference (PN)

The publication of the manufacturer's references (PN) is made with:

- Standards and official specifications now in effect (AFNOR, BNAE,

UTE, etc.)

- Instructions specified by the different manufacturers.

NOTE: The references of the components which are not manufactured by

PRECILEC are identified by:
- The manufacturer or standard reference in the PART NUMBER
column.
- The related PRECILEC reference, in parentheses, in the
NOMENCLATURE column.

D. Identification of a component part

There are four different ways to identify a component part.

(1) With the indexes:

(a) If you know the manufacturer's reference (Part Number).

The manufacturer's reference indexes show the data that follow

about the reference:

- The reference of the part used by the airline (column

left blank)

INT 10001 Page 2

- The illustrated catalog sequence number (CSN).

Application:

1 50A

Figure N Sequence N

- The quantity for each CSN.

(b) If you know the Equipment Designator.

The Equipment Designator Index shows the Item reference and

the CSN related to a given symbol.

(2) With the Illustrated Parts List:

(a) If you know the figure - Item N.

The text related to the figure number permits to identify the

component part related to the Item.

(b) If you know the position of the component part.

The figure of the related sub-assembly gives the Item applied

to the part. The related text permits to identify it.

TASK 25-11-01-990-803-A01
3. ABBREVIATIONS AND SYMBOLS USED

A. Abbreviations

The part is identified with the symbols that follow (refer to ATA 100
specification):

TASK 25-11-01-600-801-A01
2. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

R NOTE: Some operations that follow, can be done by operators (A.(1), A.(3)
R and C.(1) to C.(4)). The other operations must be done by an approved
R repair station.

A. Every four years:

(1) Lubricate the screw of the screw/tube-nut assembly (190) with oil.

(2) Remove the electromagnetic brakes (370), (480) and blow them with
a stream of compressed air at a pressure of 5 bar (70 psi)
maximum.

(3) Check the irreversibility of the two movements.

(a) For the vertical movement, make sure that a torque of 3,65 N.m
(32.305 lbf.in.) is applied on the tube-nut for the mechanical
override system.

R (b) For the horizontal movement, check the irreversibility of the

R mechanical override system (refer to paragraph
R C.Irreversibility torque check for procedure).

B. Every eight years:

Replace the screw/tube-nut assembly (190).

C. Irreversibility torque check

(1) Reason for the procedure

This test (refer to step (2)) is done to make sure that the
irreversibility torque of the horizontal movement is correct. In
case of failure, a specific procedure is applied (refer to step
(3)).

(2) Preliminary test

(a) Apply a torque of 45 N.m (398.23 lbf.in) on the output pinion

for the horizontal movement and make sure that there is no
sliding.
In case of sliding, do the following procedure.

R (3) Specific procedure

NOTE: Do not use the override system during this procedure.

R NOTE: Use the check tool of the irreversibility, and measure the
R torque during all the procedure.
R
R (a) Do full rotations of the horizontal axis (with a maximum of 10
R rotations), alternating the direction every 2 rotations.
R
R (b) Stop the procedure when you meet one of the two conditions
R below (the first that occurs):
R - You reach 10 full rotations.
R OR
R - The measured torque is equal to 60 N.m (531,44 lbf.in).
R
R CAUTION: THE TORQUE MUST BE LESS THAN 70 N.M (619,55 LBF.IN).
R A HIGHER TORQUE CAN DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR.
R
(4) Final test

(a) Do again the step (2) (a).

R In case of sliding, the actuator must be repaired by an
R approved repair station.
