Technical Data Sheet
Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP Admix
i n t e g ral c r y s t alli n e w a t e rpr o o fi n g ad m i x t u r e

Description
Dr. Fixit POLYPLUS CP Admix is an integral crystalline waterproofing admixture added to the concrete mix at
the time of batching. It consists of Portland cement, very fine treated silica sand and various active chemicals.
These active chemicals react with the moisture in fresh concrete with the by-products of cement hydration to
cause a catalytic reaction, which generates a non-soluble crystalline formation throughout the pores and capillary
tracts of the concrete. Thus the concrete becomes permanently sealed against the penetration of water or liquids
from any direction. The concrete is also protected from deterioration due to harsh environmental conditions. The
admixture also has the ability to self-seal minor cracks & withstand high level hydrostatic water pressure.

Standard Compliance / Specification

Method of Application
Dr. Fixit POLYPLUS CP Admix is a dry powder dosed at 0.8% to 1.2% by weight of the cement and added
directly to the mortar during mixing. Maximum 4 kg per cubic meter is allowed.
For smaller mixes, add prescribed quantity of Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP Admix to the sand & coarse aggregates. Mix
the components thoroughly for 2-3 minutes before adding the cement & water. The total concrete mass should
be blended using standard practices.
For larger (RMC/Plant) mixes, dispense the prescribed dosage of Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP Admix in 60-70% of
pre-batched water. Mix the components thoroughly for 2-3 minutes before adding the batched cement, sand,
coarse aggregates & remaining water. Mix for 5-7 minutes. The batching & mixing of total concrete mass to be
in accordance to standard practices.
RMC Central Mix Operation Mix Dr. Fixit CP Admix with water in a ratio of 1:1.5. Water should be added first.
The slurry consistency achieved should be poured into the hopper of ready mix truck. The water added for
slurry should be kept in account for preparation of RMC. Ready mix concrete once ready should be transferred
to hopper of truck & mix for 5-7 minutes to achieve homogenous consistency.
Placing & curing of concrete as per standard engineering practice or as instructed by the engineer in charge.
In most cases 7 days of water curing is recommended. Curing membranes as per ASTM C-309 or ASTM C-1315
may be used.

Precautions & Limitations

Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP Admix is an effective system for rigid structures only and may not reliably seal moving
cracks and joints, that experience variable loading or repeated movement.
In case the workability / slump is lower than the desired specification, then one may need to add high range
water reducer to achieve the required slump. Addition of additional water on the batch process card must be
approved by the QA authority.
The temperature of the concrete mix should be above 5C.
Do not exceed the specified water/cement ratio.

Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP Crystalline System

POLYPLUS CP CRYSTALLINE SYSTEM is an integral crystalline system with

Polyplus CP Slurry / Dry Shake application
Poluplus CP Admix
Dr. Fixit Waterbar
Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP Admix is composed of high quality cement, properly selected & graded inert aggregates,
proprietary waterproofing active chemicals & additives. It is used as a chemically active waterproofing treatment
for concrete. Dr. Fixit POLYPLUS CP when mixed with water and applied as a brush coat to concrete, it penetrates
deeply into the capillaries of the concrete & protects it against the permeability of water.

How Dr. Fixit POLYPLUS CP works?

The proprietary waterproofing active chemical plays very important role & it is a very simple reaction with the
natural chemical by products of cement hydration, such as calcium hydroxide, various mineral oxides, hydrated
& unhydrated cement particles of the concrete in wet condition. The result of chemical reaction is the formation
of billions of needles like non-soluble crystals which block the pores of the capillaries, voids & micro-cracks in
concrete. After blocking, the pores & capillary tracts of the concrete become discontinuous which stops the
permeability from all directions of the treated concrete. Dr. Fixit POLYPLUS CP remains active whenever water is
present.
Pre-saturation & subsequent re-wetting of the surface will cause diffusion of the organic chemicals & formation
of crystals by reaction at greater depth. It may take from seven days to one month to reach its maximum
waterproofing capability, depending on the thickness of the concrete.
Environmental factors such as ambient temperature, density of concrete, moisture presence & weather conditions
can affect the timing of sealing process. Under dry conditions, Dr. Fixit POLYPLUS CP lies dormant. However it
becomes reactive whenever it is re-exposed to moisture.
It penetrates even against strong hydrostatic pressure, becoming an integral part of the concrete. The
waterproofing chemicals remain active for the life of the structure, permanently sealing it for water seepage

DESCRIPTION
Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP Admix is a chemical admixture in powder form used to create waterproof concrete. CP
Admixis used in place of externally applied surface membranes to protect against moisture transmission,
chemical attack, and corrosion of reinforcing steel.

EFFECT ON PLASTIC CONCRETE

CP Admix has been specially formulated to meet the requirements of projects in different climate
conditions .
CP Admix is specially designed for use in hot climates and mass concrete. CP Admix will prolong the slump
retention of the concrete and delay the initial setting time. Adjust or remove set retarding admixtures
accordingly. Consult your Dr. Fixit Representative for the most appropriate
Qty. of CP Admixture for your project.

COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER CONCRETE MATERIALS

}} CP Admix is compatible with other concrete admixtures, such as accelerators, air-entrainers and
plasticizers. However, care must be taken when using water reducers or plasticizers that may delay the
setting time.
}} CP Admixture , Type B admixtures (set retarding), Type D admixtures (water reducing and set retarding),
fly ash and slag may all retard the setting time of concrete. Avoid using any of these materials in the
same mix design without first testing for compatibility. Accelerating admixtures may be used in cold
weather to help maintain normal setting times.
}} Type A (water reducing) and Type F (water reducing, high range) admixtures are preferred for slump
control when using CP Admix

MIX DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS

}} CP Admix is mixed in 1.2% by weight of cementing materials, to a maximum dosage of 6 kg/m3 .
}} Minimum Portland cement content shall be 250 kg per cubic meter (420 lb. per cubic yard).
}} Dosage and minimum Portland cement content may be varied for specific projects in consultation with
Dr. Fixit Representative s Technical Services Department.
}} CP Admix has a minimal affect on air content and will increase air less than 1.0%.
}} Adjust or remove air-entraining admixtures (AEA) according to the results of your trial batches. Air
content can be adjusted using air entrainers or air detrainers. In many cases, Type B or D admixtures
can be used at a lower dose or eliminated when using CP Admix Consider using Type A or F admixtures
instead.
}} Aggregates, cements and supplementary cementing materials can vary in properties from region to
region. Test batches are required to assess the local plastic and hardened properties to determine
appropriate mix designs.
}} It is recommended that cast-in-place concrete be batched at a water to cement (w/c) ratio of
approximately 0.40 (0.37 for shotcrete). The maximum total w/c ratio is either 0.45 (0.40 for shotcrete)
or the specified maximum w/c ratio. This includes all water present in the concrete and any added on
route and on site.

BATCHING CONSIDERATIONS
}} Do not use recycled water unless test batches show acceptable results.
}} The use of recycled aggregates is not recommended.
}} When using multiple admixtures in the same batch of concrete, they should be dispensed separately into
the concrete to avoid intermixing and possible interference of the admixtures. it is recommended that
CP Admix be added first before any other admixtures.
}} Before opening CP Admix pails, loosen compacted material by turning the pail over once or twice. Do
not Dispense directly into concrete mixer Desperse in water and then added to mixer .
}} Store any unused portions in an airtight container to prevent moisture contamination.
}} Mix concrete at medium to high speed for 1 minute per cubic meter/yard in the batch and a minimum of
6 minutes.
}} If the slump is below specification, add a mid or high range water reducer to achieve the required slump.
Only add additional water with the approval of the quality control technician. Record all water additions
on the batch ticket and do not exceed the specified w/c ratio.
}} If possible, add only a portion of the specified HRWR when batching, and send the rest to the jobsite to
be added just prior to unloading.

SHELF LIFE

CP Admix has a shelf life of 24 months for unopened pails, and 4 months for properly re-sealed pails.

Dry Shake
Waterproofing with Dry-Shake
DESCRIPTION
CP Broadcast is a crystalline waterproofing treatment for concrete flatwork. CP Broadcast is applied as a
dry-shake to the fresh concrete surface and trowelled into the concrete during the final finishing, where
it penetrates deeply into the concrete mass. The dry broadcast method produces a smooth finished floor
suitable for typical traffic or application of common floor finishes. CP Broadcast replaces the need for
conventional membrane waterproofing systems, and is best suited for thick concrete slabs that will be
power-troweled during finishing.

LIMITATIONS
Not for use on slabs that are subject to flexing or movement. Minimum Portland cement content shall in no
case be less than 200 kg/m3 , with w/c ratio no greater than 0.45, and air content no greater than 3%.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Read the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for this product. For professional use only. CP Broadcast
becomes caustic when mixed with water or perspiration. Avoid contact with skin or eyes. Avoid breathing
dust. Wear long sleeves, safety goggles and impervious gloves.

STEP 1: SURFACE PREPARATION

IMPORTANT: Rapid loss of moisture in plastic concrete may impair the ability for concrete to receive the
dry-shake without subsequent delamination. Use sun/wind shades or fogging equipment to protect the
concrete surface from drying out before and after applying CP Broadcast.

}} Place concrete as usual following good concreting practices according to ACI guidelines
}} CP Broadcast can be applied during finishing after the concrete has reached its initial set and the
bleed water has disappeared.
STEP 2: SPREAD BROADCAST
IMPORTANT: The product must be spread evenly, otherwise may result in uneven color of the finished slab.
This can be accomplished by hand spreading with a gloved hand or by using a mechanical drop spreader.

67
}} 1. Spread CP Broadcast evenly over the concrete surface at the recommended rate of coverage of
1 tp 1.5 kg/m2. The Change in colour will enable the installer to ensure uniform distribution of the
product.

}} TIP: To help attain the proper spread rate, start by laying out the buckets of CP Material on the slab in a
grid pattern, each 5 paces apart from the next.
}} Consult a Dr. Fixit representative regarding proper treatment of control and construction joints.

STEP 3: FINISHING
IMPORTANT: The high concentration of CP Broadcastwill delay the final setting time of the concrete
surface. For this reason, the final closing of the surface by hard troweling should be delayed to prevent
blistering. Set blades as flat as possible.

}} Immediately begin power-floating operations to work the product completely into the surface. At first,
the surface may appear dry and appear to be difficult to float. Do not add water. Soon the CP Broadcast
chemicals will begin to dissolve and be absorbed by the concrete paste. Eventually the presence of CP

Broadcastwill provide lubrication that will actually make trowelling easier.

IMPORTANT: Do not over trowel over troweling can lead to blistering and delamination. Blistering may
also occur if air content is too high.

STEP 3: CURING
Proper curing is essential to achieve the performance and benefits of CP Broadcast . Cure in
accordance with ACI 308.1 guidelines.

}} Wet curing the concrete with a fog mist spray, sprinkler or wet burlap for 5 to 7 days is recommended.
Protect from rain, excessive wind, and sun.
}} Alternatively, a curing compound conforming to ASTM C309 may be used.
TOOLS & MATERIALS

Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP Waterproofing System

Waterproofing with Surface-Application

(Brush Method)

DESCRIPTION

Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP is a surface-applied crystalline waterproofing treatment for concrete structures that
is used to protect against the ingress of water. It is a dry powder, that when mixed with water becomes
a coating that is applied to the inner or outer sides of a concrete structure. Use these instructions
in conjunction with the Active leak repair system or joint ,cracks,Holes system to create fully tanked,
waterproof concrete structures. For spray application, see the additional information in Application
Instruction Waterproofing with Surface Application (Spray Method).

LIMITATIONS

The Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP Waterproofing System is an effective waterproofing system for rigid concrete
structures only and may not be reliable for structures that experience constant or repeated movement.
Consult a Dr. Fixit representative for project specific recommendations. Air and surface temperature at the
time of application must be at least 4oC

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Read the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for these products. For professional use only. These products
become extremely caustic when mixed with water or perspiration. Avoid contact with skin or eyes. Avoid
breathing dust. Wear long sleeves, safety goggles and impervious gloves.

STEP 1: SURFACE PREPARATION

1. Repair all defects, including cracks and honeycombs, before applying Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP using the
following procedures:
}} Cracks and joints: Application Instruction Joint repair systemfor Waterproofing Cracks, Holes & Joints
}} Tie holes, honeycombs and general defects: Application Instruction Honeycomb repair system
Waterproofing Tie Holes and Defective Concrete.
}} Pipe penetrations: Application Instruction For Pipe penetration for Waterproofing Pipe Penetrations
(Existing Construction).
IMPORTANT: All leaking defects must be repaired. However, even defects not currently leaking may leak
in the future if not repaired before applying the surface coating. In most cases, all defects should be
repaired whether they are currently leaking or not. Consult your Dr. Fixit representative for project specific
recommendations.
2. Concrete surfaces must be clean and free of paint, sealers, form release agents, dirt, laitance or any
other contaminants. Prepare the surface by sandblasting, high pressure water blasting (minimum 3,000
psi), scarifying, shot blasting or other method of mechanical surface preparation to remove loose
concrete and surface contaminants. Concrete with some exposed aggregate is ideal. Wash and rinse the
surface with a detergent or concrete degreaser if needed.

69
3. Even for uncontaminated surfaces, mechanical surface preparation will assist by opening up pores closed
due to smooth trowelled surfaces, formwork etc. The freshly roughened surface will provide maximum
adhesion and better penetration of the waterproofing chemicals.
Tip: Acid etching is not recommended. If acid etching must be used, all traces of acid must neutralized and
rinsed away before applying the Polyplus CP System.
4. Surfaces to receive Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP must be brought to a saturated-surface-dry (SSD) condition. The
concrete must be completely saturated with water to allow the Crystalline chemicals to penetrate deeply
and react. The outer surface, however, must be only slightly damp, so as not to dilute and weaken the
bond. Thoroughly pre-soak the surface with water; then remove excess water with a sponge or vacuum
just before applying Crystalline.

Tip: High pressure water blasting is effective at cleaning and saturating the concrete in one step.

STEP 2: APPLY Polyplus CP (1ST COAT)

IMPORTANT: Ensure that Polyplus CP is only applied to a damp (SSD) surface. As you apply the Polyplus
CP coatings, you may need to rewet the concrete ahead of you to maintain a damp (SSD) surface. Failure
to bring the surface to an SSD condition will result in a weak bond between the Polyplus CP coating and the
concrete, and may lead to dusting, flaking and delamination of the Polyplus CP treatment.

1. Mix Polyplus CP to a thick paste; approximately 5 parts powder to 2 part clean water. Mix only as much
as can be placed in 30 minutes.

2. Ensure the surface is damp (SSD).

3. With a concrete brush, use an aggressive, circular scrubbing motion to apply the Polyplus CP coating
over the concrete. Push the coating into any voids in the concrete surface to ensure a good bond. Apply
at 0.8 kg/m2

TIP: Make coverage estimation easy by laying pails of Polyplus CP in advance, one every 31 m2 or 330 sq ft.

4. Cure and protect, as in Step 4 below.

STEP 3: APPLY Polyplus CP (2ND COAT)

TIP: To ensure complete coverage with no missed or thin spots, we recommend that you always apply
two coats. The second coat will give a harder, more durable finish. Note that in certain cases it may
be acceptable to use a single coat of Polyplus CP and eliminate the second coat. Consult your Dr. Fixit
representative for project specific recommendations.

1. The second coat can be applied as soon as the Polyplus CP has set hard (usually 6-24 hours depending
on conditions). Wash and rinse the hardened Polyplus CP to remove surface bloom before applying
Polyplus CP second coat. Some exposed aggregate in the Polyplus CP coating is ideal.

2. Ensure the hardened Polyplus CP surface is damp (SSD).

3. Install Polyplus CP Second coat by following the same procedure used to install Polyplus CP .

STEP 4: CURING & PROTECTION

IMPORTANT: Polyplus CP and Polyplus CP Second coat must be kept damp and wet cured for at least 3
days to develop its full properties. Curing for several days or even weeks will be beneficial in most cases. Do
not apply curing water if the coating is still soft to the touch; this will wash out the coating and produce poor
results. Instead, use protective surface coverings to retain moisture during the initial hardening period.

1 Cover the freshly applied Polyplus CP coating with tarps or plastic to prevent water loss due to
evaporation. Wet curing should begin as soon as the Polyplus CP coating has hardened enough not to
be damaged by the application of curing water, usually 6-24 hours depending on conditions. Wet curing
should also begin if the coating starts to dry out.
2 Do not allow water to pool on the surface during the first 24 hours or until the coating is hard. Once the
coating has hardened, mist the surface with water as needed to keep the repair damp for 3 days. Curing
water should be applied at least three times each day for three days. More frequent application may be
needed in hot, dry weather.

3 Keep protective coverings in place during the curing period to retain moisture. As the coating gains
strength, thoroughly soak the surface to keep the coating fully saturated

4 Protect the repair from frost, rain and traffic for at least 24 hours. Heavy traffic must be avoided during
the curing period.

IMPORTANT: Polyplus CP and second coat may develop a surface bloom that may inhibit adhesion
of following coats. Take care to clean and prepare the surface adequately. It strongly recommended to
perform a test patch.

NOTES

}} Roughen Polyplus CP and Polyplus CP Second coat coating to remove loose surface particles before
applying any further coating or finish. Finishes containing Portland cement may be applied over
Polyplus CP following the curing period. If paints and coatings are used, they must be suitable for use
on new concrete. Apply paints and coatings according to the
}} manufacturers instructions. Test coatings or other finishes for compatibility before completing the
work.
}} Wait at least 7 days before filling treated tanks and reservoirs. For reservoirs that will contain drinking
water, cure longer if possible, and then rinse with fresh water several times. Initially, the drinking water
may need pH adjustment using citric acid or similar water treatment chemicals.
STEP 2: INSTALL Polyplus CP Joints System

IMPORTANT: Only proceed if the Joints is NOT leaking water. If water is leaking through the Joints, STOP
and finish the application using the crack repair procedure described in Application Instruction Of Joints
repair ofWaterproofing Cracks, Holes & Joints.

1. Wait at least 28 days before filling the Joints with Polyplus CP System to allow initial concrete shrinkage
to take place first.
2. Ensure that the concrete is in SSD condition.
3. Mix Polyplus CP System to a stiff putty consistency as follows: Start by mixing 3 parts powder with 1 part
clean water by volume until smooth. Add an additional part of powder (for a total of approximately 4 to
1) and continue mixing to obtain a sag free paste. The mixture will appear dry at first, but with mixing will
become smooth and workable.
4. Mix only as much material as can be placed in 30 minutes. Do not add water to the material once it has
started to set. Over-watering will result in shrinkage cracking.
5. Tightly pack the Polyplus CP System into theJoints so that it is flush with the surface.
6. Protect the Polyplus CP System application from damage by rain, rapid drying or freezing for at least
24 hours.

1.1 In horizontal areas, below rafts etc. as detailed hereunder:
a. Stage I (Only stage one is to be adopted if raft thickness is less than 300mm or 1.2 kg
with grade slab) Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP to be dusted on lean concrete/ PCC and the
steel reinforcements. This procedure will not only protect the reinforcement itself
but will prevent the rising dampness into the foundation slab. The lean concrete
should be dampened until saturation and Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP will be dusted using
between 1 to 1.5 kg/ m2. The concrete of the foundation / Raft slab can be poured
after Half hour, once Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP has hardened and adhered to the lean
concrete, endeavouring not to damage the previous application.
b. Stage II (To be adopted along with Stage I if raft thichness is more than 500 1 kg
mm or if less than that can be done only on top) For this case, the application
is performed on the fresh concrete, after leveling, and has enough strength to
be walked over, but still fresh enough to dampen the surface when trowelled.
The product Polyplus CP is spread in powder form as supplied at a ratio of 1.2
kg/ m2 to 1.5 Kg/m2, endeavoring to achieve a complete and uniform coverage.
Immediately after this surface is hosed down to prevent the superficial drying
of the slab and to make the trowelling moother. The trowelling will provide
a monolithic waterproof layer, which can be slightly dampened during this
operation to improve the penetration and to prevent an excessively quick drying,
which would prevent the proper hydration of Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP. Singular spots
such as columns, penetrating pipes,Corners, concrete joints, and expansion joints
should be treated and sealed accordingly (Stated in Joint treatment Method).
1.2 In vertical areas, retaining walls, etc. all as enumerated above.
a. Crack Treatment All cracks must be at least 50 X 50 mm deep and must be
sealed with Crystalline Modifide mortar if there is no water or with Hydrolic Plug if
there is water penetration. All non-structural surface iron must be cut to a depth
of 50 mm depth and then patched with Crystalline Modifide mortar or Plug. Wash
and saturate the surface with water before applying the coating but check that
there are no puddles or free-standing water remaining.
b. Stage I Positive side treatment Surface preparation the surface to be coated
must be solid and clean, free of all traces of paints, coatings, efflorescence, loose
particles, grease, oil, demoulding agents, dust, gypsum plaster, etc. Remove by
water pressure cleaning, if rquired by mechanicle cleaning to make it open pore
or other suitable mechanical method. Mix just with water between 6 and 7 litres
per each 25 kg bag, either manually or preferably by slow speed drill (400 600
rpm). Applications made at high temperatures or sprayed, the water ratio can be
increased slightly. For standard applications, Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP can be applied
with a fibre type brush or broom. Apply a thick layer to form a continuous and
uniform coating; do not spread as if it were paint, apply only in one direction,
the second coat should be spread in the opposite direction. Total consumption is
maintained between 1 and 1,2 kg/ m2 Waiting time between coats is from 6 8
hours minimum
c. Stage II Negative side treatment ( Inside If No working space is available from
Positive side) Follow Crack treatment as mentioned in stage I
Surface preparation: The surface to be coated must be solid and clean, free of all
traces of paints, coatings, efflorescence, loose particles, grease, oil, demoulding
agents, dust, gypsum plaster, etc. Remove by water pressure cleaning, if rquired
by mechanicle cleaning to make it open pore or other suitable mechanical
method.Mix just with water between 6 and 7 litres per each 25 kg bag, either
manually or preferably by slow speed drill (400 600 rpm). Applications made
at high temperatures or sprayed, the water ratio can be increased slightly. For
standard applications, Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP can be applied with a fibre type brush
or broom. Apply a thick layer to form a continuous and uniform coating; do not
spread as if it were paint, apply only in one direction, the second coat should be
spread in the opposite direction. Consumption is between 1 and 1,5 kg/ m2 per
coat, for a total consumption of about 1.2 1,5 kg/ m2. Waiting time between

coats is from 6 8 hours minimum.

2.0 Retaining wall with Admix
2.1 Stage I Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP Admix is a dry powder admixture that is
added to the concrete mix at the rate of 1.2% by weight of the cement content
or maximum of 6 kg per cubic meter. On site it is to be added i tranzit mixer and
5 to six minits of agitation is required. (please note that after addition concrete
should be place within 45 min) Reduce the water content by 5-10% depending
on slump requirement and concedering water added for despertion of crystalline
material. Water to cementitious ratio must be 0.45 or less Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP
Admix is compatible with most water reducing admixtures and superplasticizers
but we suggest to contact technical departmentfor finalization of quantity and
procedure.
Crack Treatment Crack treatment should be initiated only after recomended
curinng is done and aproved by manufacturer. All cracks must be at least 50 X
50 mm deep and must be sealed with Crystalline Modifide mortar if there is no
water or with plug if there is water penetration. All non-structural surface iron
must be cut to a depth of 50 mm and then patched with Crystalline Modifide
mortar or Plug. Wash and saturate the surface with water before applying the
coating but check that there are no puddles or free-standing water remaining.
Honey combs are to be opened and treated with Crystalline modifide mortat
where ever required. Please insure that after repair is done of Crack and
Honeycomb area should be coated with Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP with slurry coating to
finish the operation.
3.0 Starter Joints

3.1 Starter Joints are to be routed in both wall as well as raft in U shape minimum
50 mm X 50 mm. Dry pack or putty consistancy of Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP is to be
filled 1/3rd depth of grove after saturating the surface and routed grove with
water. If active Leakage is observed then Plug should be used to stop water
till 1/3 rd depthe of grove. On top of this Dry pack of putty consistancy Dr. Fixit
Polyplus CP till further 1/3 rd depth is to be filled. It should be cured to dry feel
or 24 hours before further treatment. Repair the grove with Crystalline Modifide
mortar complely till surfave, and a fillet should be constructed Minimum 75
mm X 75 mm on both sides. Immidialy after hardening the surface, Apply Dr.
Fixit Polyplus CP slurry coat 200 mm on both sides of starter joints. Cure this
work for 4 days by misting water making sure that coating does not wash out.
Please note here that In case if it is required grouting points should be intruduced
as equal intervals depending on concrete conditions. Grouting should be done
only after repairing of Grove and installation of fillett with Cement and Crystalline
medium.and then Slurry coating should be done.

Chemical Reactivity of Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP Admix/CP

Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP Admix contains active waterproofing chemicals which react with the natural chemical by
products of cement hydration, such as calcium hydroxide, various mineral oxides, hydrated & un hydrated
cement particles of the concrete in wet condition. The result of chemical reaction is the formation of billions of
needles like non-soluble crystals which block the pores of the capillaries, voids & micro-cracks in concrete. Dr. Fixit
Polyplus CP Admix remains active whenever water is present.

Pre-saturation & subsequent re-wetting of the surface will cause diffusion of the organic chemicals & formation of
crystals by reaction at greater depth.

Under dry conditions, Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP Admix lies dormant. However, it becomes reactive whenever it is re-ex-
posed to moisture.

It performs under strong hydrostatic pressure, becoming an integral part of the concrete. The waterproofing
chemicals remain active for the life of the structure, permanently sealing it for water seepage.

Application Methodology of Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP Admix

Dr. Fixit POLYPLUS CP Admix is a dry powder dosed at 0.8% to 2% by weight of the cement and added directly to
the mortar during mixing. Maximum dosage 6 Kg per meter cube is allowed.
For smaller mixes, add prescribed quantity of Dr. Fixit POLYPLUS CP Admix to the sand & coarse aggregates. Mix
the components thoroughly for 2-3 minutes before adding the cement & water. The total concrete mass should be
blended using standard practices.
The batching & mixing of total concrete mass to be in
accordance to standard practices.
Polyplus CP Admix can be dispersed in water and added in transit mixers on site just before placing the concrete.
Care should be taken that minimum mixing time should be 7 to 8 minutes and at agitating speed.
Placing & curing of concrete as per standard engineering practice or as instructed by the engineer in charge. In
most cases 7 days of water curing is recommended. Curing membranes as per ASTM C-309 or ASTM C-1315 may
be used.
Dry Shake Application
}} In this process Dr. Fixit Polyplus CP powder compound sprinkled onto the surface of concrete (1.0
kg powder per sq.m.) with the use of a mechanical spreader, sieve or similar device after concrete is
placed, consolidated, and leveled.
}} As new concrete has high moisture content, the crystalline penetration is immediate with accelerates
crystal growth due to chemical reaction. The powder is then worked into the surface of the slab during
the normal finishing process with a trowel.
}} If application is being done in direct sunlight, it is extremely important to cover the slab after final
troweling with a rigid sheet of polythene. Take care to see that the sheet is not in contact with the
surface of the slab. This can be done by placing the sheet on bricks to ensure a gap between the slab
and the sheet, which will allow air circulation.
}} Remove the sheet after 48 hours and water pond the treated area to cure regularly.

Dry shake application can be done by three methods as follows:

}} Bottom dry shake
}} Top dry shake or Broadcasting ( For low thickness Rafts)
}} Both sides top and bottom ( for higher thickness Rafts)

Pre-application Checklist: Dos and Donts

}} Remove dirt, laitance, loose particles, paints, etc., by means of mechanical grinding, sand blasting, pressure
water cleaning or suitable mechanical means.
}} Remove all protrusions, chisel out honeycombed & damaged areas, repair the cracks and work back to sound
concrete.
}} It is extremely important to ensure that the surface should be sound, thoroughly prepared and vacuum
cleaned to a finish of a sand paper to allow POLYPLUS CP to penetrate effectively. This can be achieved by
mechanical surface scarification, shot blasting, etc.
}} Thoroughly rinse the surface with water several times to reach a saturated surface dry (SSD) condition,
where the surface should be damp without any standing water.

During application Checklist

}} Note batch nos and manufacturing dates of all materials received at site.
}} Ensure proper curing of all repairing works.
}} Proper surface preparation is the key to successful finished coat. Therefore pay extra attention to the same.
}} Level the surface by using Dr. Fixit POLYPLUS CP Mortar to remove all undulations and bug holes.
}} Ambient temperature during application shall not be too low (<5C) or too high (>40C).
}} Do not apply during rainy season or if there is risk of raining as it will spoil the work.
}} Plan in a way that direct sunlight during coating is avoided.
}} Pot life of mix is about 30 minutes hence consume the material within stipulated time period.
}} Ensure proper dosage as detailed in application methodology.
Post Application Checklist
}} Ensure that the entire area is covered and no spaces are left exposed.
}} Ensure proper cleaning of work area.
}} Ensure waste material has not been thrown down the drain but disposed off properly.
