1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 Purpose

The purpose of this Method statement is prepared to make sure that the installation of all types of fan coil unit with
different capacity and associated chilled water pipework and condensate drain is done as per applicable requirements
and manufacturer instructions.

1.2 Scope

The procedure defines the method that will be used to ensure that the FCU and accessories are installed as an
integrated system correctly and in acceptable way and conforms with technical specification and shop drawings.

1.3 Exclusions

Controls and electric power system will be another another method of statement

2. GENERAL

2.1 Program
Chilled and condenser water piping installation will commence on 15 November 2015 and continue until 20 August
2016.

2.2 LOCATION ADDRESS


Exhange Square (106 Street).
Basement 3 to 22nd floor. .

2.4 LABOUR RESOURCES


The FCU team will coordinate and carry out as below organization chart

Office mobile phone or walkie-talkie will be used during working time.

Temporary fire protection equipment.
Site electric panel should be needed as site condition.

2.17 SAFETY BRIEFING


The contents of this method statement shall from the basis of a toolbox talk for all operatives before the
commencement of the such works.

2.18 RISK ASSESMENT

2.19 RISK MANAGEMENT


Use only certified lifting equipment, marked with its safe working load
Only trained operatives shall Erect scaffolding to be used for the installation
Working area should be cordoned properly.to avoid conflicting tasks in area
Main contractor shall provide task lighting as required in areas subject to poor lighting.
All hand tools and extension leads shall be inspected before use to ensure they are in good working order, with no
damaged or exposed elements. Leads shall be checked along their full length and plugs and sockets shall be of the
correct type and rating.

3. ACTUAL WORKS METHOD STATEMENT
3.1 Delivery and store
All materials shall be submitted and approved prior to procurement and delivery to site.
Materials shall be inspected upon delivery to site, to ensure compliance with the approved submittal. An Over,
Shortage & Damage report shall be prepared for all deliveries if have.
At site all the FCUs will be stored in a clean / dry place and adequate covering by tarpaulin sheets will be done to
protect the equipment from deposition of construction dust till finally shifted to its final location.

3.2 FAN COIL UNIT INSTALLATION METHODOLOGY

All inlet and outlet of FCUs pipe, duct and condensate water pipe are compatible with approved shop drawing.
Check that the fan coil unit to be installed has the correct model and type.
Locate units as shown on latest approved shop drawing.When fixing the support it will be ensured that they are
adequate to hold the unit weight.Support size must be inline with approved shop drawing.
Lift and position FCU unit in a safer manner using Genie Lift with 2 manpower assisting with proper scaffolding for the
installation of threaded rod &b proper bolt and nut on 4 sides as per attached table below.
Position hanger rods and check for alignment with the unit.
Firmly secure the unit to the supports and make sure the base of the fan coil is leveled horizontaly.
Make sure that the FCU shall be shall be accessible for change of filters and general servicing and main
Using rubber grommet from to reduce vibration for FCU between threaded rod and FCU frame.
To ensure condensate drain pan of FCU so that it has 1% slope direct to pipe line.
Using canvas connector between duct and FCU for connection. Mixing box must have access door to check, repair
and maintain.
All connection points between FCU and duct must use sealant to make closed.
Concealed type FCU duct connection and airgrilles as per approved detail shop drawing.
Exposed type FCU as per manufacture standard packaged with airgrilles below photo
To make inspection to complete installation works.
Controls and power system detail and method of statement will be submitted separately.
FCU protection with plastic cover after inspection to avoid dust ingress and future damaged from other services
