Initial tests guide

1. INTERNET CONNECTION TEST

Please use only Internet Explorer or Google Chrome and do the test from your laptop or PC.
Go to http://www.speedtest.net/

I. When the page opens it will automatically be on your location as this is where you
currently are. You need to choose to run the test on the Taipei server by moving the
area circled in red.

II. You can choose the server by looking into the map, there is a scroll bar on the left to
zoom in closer to Taiwan

III. Move the select box to the region near Taiwan and then use the middle-upper screen
for fine adjustment. When you find Taipei City, choose the one named as: Hosted by
Chief Telecom, and left click it.
 IV. Wait for the page to download the results of your download, upload and ping. The
result will show at the top like this picture. Make a screenshot of the result and mail
it back to us.

V. The appropriate results are:

i. Ping: lower than 500 ms
ii. Download speed: at least 0.6 Mbps
iii. Upload speed: at least 0.5 Mbps

2. CPU test
This is to ensure that they have an adequate CPU. Alternative tests or ways to establish is

I. Control Panel -> System and Security -> System.

II. It will display your system information.

III. Once you have the Processor information, go to the following website:
http://www.passmark.com/cpubenchmark/midlow_range_cpus.html
IV. You will be able to find out what your processor mark is, and our minimum
acceptable score is 1100.

3. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

Part of our standard recruitment procedure is the online English proficiency test. You can access
the test with the link below.
