Drying out
By drying out the transformer, the Insulation resistance of the windings and
the BDV of the oil are improved.
All newly erected transformers (including re-erected old ones) shall be dryed
out properly before energisation.
General practice is to circulate hot oil in the transformer with an oil filter
incorporating oil heaters and vaccum chamber.
