CDI CHEETAH POWER MANUAL BOOK

Plug CDI's dongle USB cable to CDI first and then plug it to the computer. Run CDI CP software
from your operating system.

Choose COM number by clicking Settings

For using this software, you must set the COM port between 1 up to 10 to synchronize between the
software and CDI. To know which COM you are using you can go to device manager and check it.
If the COM number is bigger than 10, change it by double clicking the word Prolific USBtoSerial
Bridge Port Settings Advanced COM Port Number (on the down left), change it between 1
up to 10. If you change into the COM port that is in use, you have to restart computer to make sure
the COM port is overwrote.

To connect the software with the CDI, clicks connect CDI. If the synchronization is correct, new box
will appear like this.
To know the curve inside the CDI go to Communication Upload to PC

If upload is complete, new box will appear like this.


Click OK and the display will be like this.

NOTE: The curve in the picture may not the same as the curve in your CDI.

THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE!


To save the curve inside your CDI, click Save.

You can choose either to save into extension of .ign or into extension of .xls (Microsoft Excel format).
It is recommended to save into .xls format.

In the curve area, you can zoom by holding the left click and drag to create disperse box. The area of
the box will be zoomed.
To open a map just clicks open.

In this new box, you can choose either to open a file in extension of .ign or in .xls format. Usually for
the CDI CP software, the maps are provided inside IGN folder. For opening the curve inside a file,
that particular file must contain the correct format in order to let the software read it. If the file is in
correct format, it will overwrite the curve inside the curve area.
To download the curve into the CDI, click Download to CDI. If the download is complete, new box
will appear like this.

And the display will be like this.

Changing the curve in this new software will not affect the data inside data version box.
Since it is unstable to use this new software, it is better to check the curve that you have
downloaded by uploading to PC again. Sometimes the curve can be mass up like this.
However, it is better to use Open Chart function in order to test or modify map.
To modify the additional data inside Data Version Box just change it proportionally. Click Write in
order to change the data inside the CDI.

Angle, used for setting PickUp Pulser to TDC angle.

Smaller value = advance

Bigger value = retard.

Pulser, used for selecting Pick-Up Pulser type.

0 = Negative 2 = AUTO-detect

1 = Positive

Power, used for setting the power management of the CDI.

On and off mean turning on or off the power management.

Even and odd is like type of pulser for power management, selecting even is used for 2 strokes,
odd for 4 strokes.

Timing, used for setting the timing mode of the CDI.

All touring / Low touring high sport / Low sport high touring / All sport

Touring timing mode means the basic algorithm that CDI use is not really aggressive. While the
sport timing mode makes the calculation of the data that CDI gathered is to produce aggressive
timing. In this case, sport timing mode requires more supply of fuel compare to touring timing
mode.

Timing on, used for setting the RPM for the transition from one timing mode to another timing mode. It is
only available if the timing mode is low touring high sport or low sport high touring.
When you have finished modifying the CDI, clicks disconnect.

To close the software, click close.
