Thesis statement:
Proper recommissioning in a commercial building can reduce the operational cost of the
building: Studying and analyzing shopping mall of Ahmedabad
Introduction:

Shopping malls being a commercial complex uses a large amount of electricity and thus contributes in
energy wastage. The operational and maintenance cost is an existing shopping complex is also high.
Therefore there is a need to control and minimize the use of energy resources. Recommissioning an
existing shopping mall can to some extent help in achieving the goal of saving energy and can also profit
us monetarily in a longer term.

Methodology:

1. Literature study of recommissioned commercial complex all over world.


2. The research will be carried out by studying any shopping mall of Ahmedabad. An energy audit
will be carried out for the mall to see the energy consumption of the mall.
3. Electric bill study of the mall
4. Problems identification like (air leakage, HVAC, etc.) of the mall
5. Providing suggestions for recommissioning
6. Implementing recommissioning proposal
7. Analyzing the outcome
