BASIC ENGINEERING DESIGN

Basic Engineering Design (BED) package refers to the bonded information that is required to perform the detail
engineering design of the projects. BED package is normally required by the plant owner to produce & complete their
Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Commissioning (EPCC) tender package. BED also can be used for further
assessment by plant owner for internal discussion and evaluation to recognize the feasibility of the project.

MECIP have the key resources and talents in-house to bring the most practical solutions tailored to our clients need. In
addition to the multi-disciplined 'one stop shop' service, we are also able to offer specialist single discipline engineering
and design services to meet the individual needs of our clients.

Our Basic Engineering Design Package generally contains the following:

DETAIL ENGINEERING DESIGN

Detail Engineering Design (DED) is the essential bridge between the basic engineering design and construction phase of a
project in order to convert the ideas into reality.

DED involves close coordination and synchronization among various disciplines of engineering, all in house resources for
interactive and progressive manner. With having the DED, is vital to the owner flexibility time to execute the project. In
MECIP, we have a dedicated team of reliable and knowledgeable managers, engineers and designers who are able to
provide the complete detail engineering design solution.

Computer aided design techniques are extensively used as design aids to help develop optimum layout & design to assure
maximum construction, operational & maintenance convenience, and detailed construction drawings with bill of materials
are extracted automatically from the system, ensuring highest degree of accuracy and error-free drawings.

We adhere to relevant standards, specifications, procedures and relevant authorities.

LOCAL AUTHORITY LIAISON

Compliance to the Malaysia Act and Regulation is a mandatory requirement for each project undertake in Malaysia to
ensure the constructed facilities are safe to start up and legally operated.

We specialize in providing Consultation Services in getting approval from the local government authority which covers
professional endorsement, design review, preparation for plan approval and submission of plan approval and obtain CCC
if required for almost all projects.

MECIP has worked with many PETRONAS subsidiaries such as PGB, PASB, VCMSB, PEMSB, and OPTIMAL in local authority
liaison work in obtaining necessary approval from relevant statutory bodies. There are 18 statutory bodies in Malaysia
that usually need government approval. It comprises DOSH, BOMBA, District Council, Public Work Department (JKR), JBA,
JBA, DOE, DCA, JPP, TNB, JBEG, TMB, SKMM, DOH, AELS, SIRIM, and Chemistry Dept.
