Configurable jumper locations are heavily circled on the diagram above. It is important to note that all but one of
these jumpers, J22, are factory defaults and should not be configured by the user. The proper settings are provided
below so if one of these is accidentally changed, it can be returned to its original position. J22 is the jumper used to
zero the passcodes and security input access level (151-157). Jumpers are configured using the plugs that fit over
the jumper prongs. A jumper with no prongs plugged, or with one prong plugged, is OUT. A jumper with both prongs
plugged is IN.
Note: Should Program Mode be inaccessible after changing PROMs, or if the operator loses or forgets the access code, set J22 to In, then
power up. Entry to the program mode is provided. Check passcodes and remove jumper J22 when finished.

Figure 45. Network configuration for multiple AccuLoads connected via a hub then linked directly to the
automation system and LAN.

Refer to the standards IEEE 802.X states for wiring and using Ethernet connectivity rules and regulations. Utilize
standard IT practices and protocol when connecting several AccuLoads to any type of hub, router, or switching
device. There are various connectivity configurations and the responsibility of each configuration is left to each in-
dividual. Distances, transmission time, etc. will all follow the standard IEEE spec rating. If there are any questions
regarding installation of multiple AccuLoads over Ethernet communications, please consult the factory.

Employ the standard CAT 5 Cable, used for connecting

an AccuLoad to any router, switch, or hub.

Optional ComFlash Mass Storage Expansion Board

The ComFlash Mass Storage Expansion Board is an optional hardware feature to the A3X that provides additional
flash memory to store transaction data. The expansion board comes with a 512M DS card that has the capability of
storing approximately 10,000+ additional transactions per arm. The ComFlash operates on Com4 and uses
RS2332 communications. The ComFlash also has the capability of alarming if the device is not operating correctly.
(The ComFlash Alarm will be invoked when the interface driver fails to receive a response within a reasonable
amount of time.) The A3X also has the ability to operate (on Com4) both the memory expansion board and the
Smith Meter Card Reader simultaneously. This option can be chosen by navigating through the system directory
and setting the Com4 function to: 20 Card Reader/ComFlash.

IMPORTANT: Must have EAAI board manufacture date year 2006 or newer AND have firmware Rev. 10.13 or
higher.

Installation of the ComFlash Data Storage Device:

1. Make sure Power to the AccuLoad is turned OFF.

2. Open the cover of the AccuLoad so that the EAAI board is easily accessible.

3. The ComFlash will be mounted so the SD card is face up.

4. On the EAAI board you will notice CN1, CN2, and J4 & J5. The bottom of the SD Card should be posi-
tioned so that the female connectors will line up with all three of the male connectors (CN1, CN2, and J4 &
J5).

5. Once the connectors are lined up, simply press the memory expansion board onto the EAAI board until the
male connectors are seated fully into the female connectors. All CN1, CN2, and J4 & J5 should now be
firmly secured and covered by the ComFlash board (no pins on any of these connectors should be ex-
posed).

Optional CIVACON Overfill/Grounding Board

All wiring entering the rack monitor enclosure must enter through the NPT conduit openings provided by the factory.
Use weather-tight conduit fittings and thread sealant on pipe threads to keep out external moisture if permitted by
electrical code. Ensure that the proper sealing fittings are installed and potted (sealed) appropriately, if required by
the local regulatory agency. CIVACON recommends the installation of these seals.

Caution: The control monitor's wiring and terminal strips on one side are intrinsically safe, and are separated from
the input power wiring by barriers. This separation of wires must be maintained. All sensor wires must enter the top
(intrinsically safe) side of the enclosure, and not mix with the AC power wiring or any other wiring at the bottom. AC
power and control circuit wiring must enter through the conduit openings in the bottom of the enclosure. Wires
should be cut to length with no excessive wire coiled inside the enclosure.

Do not apply power to the CIVACON board without reading the associated manual and thoroughly checking all con-
nections. If the power wires pass through a Class I, Division 1, Group C or D area, the conduit and wire type must
be suitable for this use.

Safety first! Power must be off when installing or removing power leads to the monitor. The wires for the
power from the AccuLoad must be kept separate from the plug (sensor) wiring.

At least 50 mm (approximately 2 inches) of separation must be maintained between this wiring. This is important to
maintain safe current levels in the intrinsically safe wiring.

Three terminals are provided for the overfill permissive signal on the board. These connections are on Terminal
block J3, Common terminal 6, Terminal 7 Normally Closed, and Terminal 5 Normally Open, Form C-type contacts.
The proper control signal source must be wired to these terminals. It is suggested that the control signal source be
wired into the Common terminal, as it is the fused control terminal. The wire going to the controlled device should
then be connected to the Normally Open (or Normally Closed if applicable) contact of the terminal strip.

Three terminals are also provided for the ground verification permissive signal. These are also on terminal block J3,
Common terminal 11), Normally Closed terminal 12, and Normally Open terminal 10), Form C-type contacts. The
proper control signal source must be wired to these terminals. It is suggested that the control signal source be wired
into the Common terminal, as it is the fused control terminal. The wire going to the controlled device should then be
connected to the Normally Open (or Normally Closed if applicable) contact of the terminal strip.

If separate overfill and ground outputs are not desired, the two outputs may be combined into a single output. This
is accomplished by wiring the control signal source to the Common terminal 6, connecting a jumper between the
Normally Open terminal 5 and the Common terminal 11. The wire going to the controlled device should then be
connected to the Normally Open (or Normally Closed if applicable) contact of the terminal strip, terminal 10 or ter-
minal 12.
