General

Introduction ECG Viewer II lets you review standard 12 lead resting ECG waveforms on a
personal computer. This software operates on Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000 and
Windows XP and can manage the ECG data acquired by ECG-9020K, ECG-
9022K, ECG-9130K, ECG-9132K, ECG-9320A/K, ECG-9620 Series
Electrocardiograph and PEA-1110K Portable ECG Acquisition Terminal (referred
to as cardiograph in this operators manual). This operators manual explains
ECG viewer II on Windows XP.

Caution - continued

When an ECG database drive is shared in a local area network, more

than one computer must not access the ECG database drive at the
same time. Otherwise, ECG data files in the ECG database drive may
be lost.

NOTE
The QM-002V/010P SRAM card cannot be used.
To use ECG Viewer II, basic knowledge of the personal computer is
required. Thoroughly read the computers operation manual and
Windows instruction guide before use.

YZ-018H4 (3 m for D-SUB 25 pin connector)

After the cable connection, enable the serial port by referreing Enabling the Serial
Port in this section and set Direct/modem communication to Direct (System
Setup screen Communication settings) for the cardiograph.

WARNING
Inside the patient environment (IEC 60601-1-1 2.204)
When the personal computer and the cardiograph are installed inside
the patient environment and directly connected to each other with an
RS232C cable, supply AC power to the computer and all peripheral
equipment, such as display, printer, MO disk drive, etc. only through a
medical use isolation transformer. Do not connect the computer to a
local area network, unless the computer and the local area network
are electrically separated by fiberoptical connection. Failure to
follow this warning may cause electrical shock to the patient and
operator.

Outside the patient environment

When the cardiograph is installed inside the patient environment and
the computer is installed outside the patient environment, connect
the cardiograph and computer to each other with RS232C optical
modems and optical fiber for electrical safety. Failure to follow this
warning may cause electrical shock to the patient and operator.

Equipotential grounding
For patient safety, equipotential grounding may be required. Consult
with a qualified biomedical engineer.
Do not connect several ground leads directly to the equipotential
terminal because more than one ground lead is more likely to get
disconnected from the terminal.

* Patient environment
Any area in which intentional or unintentional contact between PATIENT and
parts of the SYSTEM or some other persons touching parts of the SYSTEM can
occur.

CAUTION
When connecting the RS232C cable to the cardiograph and
computer, turn off the power of both the cardiograph and computer.
