RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Graduate Research Assistant 2009-Present
Dept. of Civil, Structural and Environmental Eng. (CSEE), University at Buffalo
Assessed performance limit states of seismically isolated buildings under strong ground motions.
Conducted analytical, numerical, and experimental studies.
Investigated behavior of isolated buildings under pounding against a moat wall, instability of elastomeric bearings and yielding
of the superstructure.
Finite element modeling of impact considering flexibility of moat wall and soil backfill.
Proposed a new impact element that captures experimental observations.
