Article 1 Name, Purpose, Non-Discrimination policy


Section 1: Name: Taekwondo Club at The Ohio State University

Section 2: Purpose: The Taekwondo Club at the Ohio State University will
encourage excellence through martial arts training for the mind, body and spirit of
each student. We will also build a strong club family through service, social and
fundraising activities and martial arts competitions.

Section 3: Non-Discrimination Policy: The Taekwondo Club at the Ohio State


University and its members celebrate our rich martial arts heritage and welcome
students of all backgrounds. No discrimination against any individuals for
reasons of race, political or immigration status, religion, gender, gender
expression, sexual orientation, veteran status, color, age, skill level, disability or
national origin will be tolerated.

Article II Membership: Qualifications and categories of membership

Section 1: This student-run organization is the second-oldest martial arts club at


the Ohio State University, after the Judo Club. While enrolled students fill all of
the executive positions, these positions are filled by seniority rather than voting,
and faculty, staff and community members participate actively in all elements of
training. Anyone dedicated to training may become a member.

Section 2: Dues will be $50 per quarter or $150 for the regular academic year.

Article III Organization Leadership: Titles, terms of office, type of selection and
duties of leaders.
President: The instructor will appoint the President based on club seniority,
reliability and attentiveness to club needs, to serve until he/she graduates or
resigns the post. The President will attend Martial Arts Committee meetings as
well as sport club committees, and keep the club on track as far as recruitment,
volunteer work, fundraising and public relations.
Vice President: The instructor will appoint the Vice President based on club
seniority, reliability and attentiveness to club needs, to serve until he/she
graduates or resigns the post. The Vice President will attend some sport club
committees, help with club social activities and plan volunteer work.
Treasurer: The Treasurer will attend training, collect dues and help with
fundraising activities.
Article IV Executive Committee
The Instructor, officers, advisor, black belts and Senior Grand Master Joon P.
Choi of Reynoldsburg form the Executive Committee that evaluates and
improves club activity.

Article V Standing Committee

Article VI Advisor, Qualification Criteria

Advisor: Support the organization through sport club committee attendance and
club functions.

Article VII Meetings of the Organization: Required meetings and their


frequency
The Taekwondo Club will practice three times per week on campus and once per
week off campus. Additional commitments may include fundraising, volunteer
work, and competitions on or off the Ohio State University campus.

Article VIII Method of Amending Constitution: Proposals, notice, and voting


requirements.
Proposed amendments should be in writing, should not be acted upon but read in
the general meeting in which they are proposed, should be discussed in the next
immediate general meeting where votes will be taken, and should require a two-
thirds majority of members who have attended practice at least once per week
during the quarter in which the amendment is proposed. Amendments should
also require consensus of the Executive Committee. The constitution should not
be amended easily or frequently.

Article IX Method of Dissolution of Organization


Only Senior Grandmaster Joon P. Choi may dissolve the organization.

By-Laws

N/A our organization is too small to require extensive by-laws.
