Puzzle & Sitting Arrangement

1. K, L, M, N, O, P, Q and R live on eight different floors of a building but


not necessarily in the same order. The lowermost floor of the building is
numbered one, the one above that is numbered two and so on till the
topmost floor is numbered eight. Each of them also likes a different
superhero, namely Batman, Superman, Captain America, Thor, Hulk,
Wolverine, Nova and Ironman, but not necessarily in the same order.
1. The one who likes Thor lives on an even-numbered floor. Only three
people live between the one who likes Thor and M.
2. Only two people live between M and N. N does not live on the lowermost
floor. Only three people live between N and one who likes Hulk.
3. O lives immediately above K. O lives on an even-numbered floor. K does
not like Hulk. K lives neither on the floor numbered three nor five.
4. Only two people live between K and the one who likes Nova.
5. Only one person lives between the one who likes Nova and Ironman. The
one who likes Ironman lives below the one who likes Nova.
6. L lives immediately above Q. Only one person lives between Q and the
one who likes Captain America.
7. The one who likes Wolverine lives immediately above the one who likes
Batman.
8. P does not like Thor. K does not like superman.

2. Six persons A, B, C, D, E and F are sitting in row - I facing South but not
necessarily in the same order and each of them is working in a different
company among Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, SAPIENT , HDFC and Axis. Six
persons P, Q, R, S, T and U are sitting in row - II facing north but not
necessarily in the same order and each of them is working in a different
company among Google, Infosys, Accenture, IBM, Capital One and ICICI.
Each person in one row faces exactly one person from the other row. A is
third from the left end and is opposite the person who is to the immediate
right of the IBM employee. The IBM employee is opposite the person who is
to the immediate left of the TCS employee. The Google employee and the
SAPIENT employee sit at right ends in their respective rows. C is a
SAPIENT employee, and is adjacent to E. D sits opposite Q and to the left of
A but does not sit at any extreme. B is not adjacent to D but opposite P. The
ICICI employee sits neither at an end nor opposite A, but sits to the right of
P. The Accenture employee is adjacent to neither the Infosys employee nor
the Capital One employee. S sits at an end. R is opposite the Amazon
employee but sits at neither end. T is opposite the HDFC employee and the

Microsoft employee is second to the right of the Axis employee. The Capital
One employee is not adjacent to P.

3. A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H eight family members are sitting around a


circular table, not necessarily in the same order. Four of them are facing
inside and others are facing outside. They like different Colors viz Red,
Blue, Green, Yellow, Violet, White, Brown and Gray, but not necessarily in
the same order. F faces the Center and sits third to the right of C. D likes
Green color and faces the person who likes White color. G sits third to the
right of B who likes Red color.
The persons who like Yellow and Violet are facing to the same direction
(inside or outside). E is sitting between the person who like Green and the
one who likes Gray respectively. A likes Violet and C likes Blue. The person
who likes Brown is facing outward and is an immediate neighbor of the
person who likes Gray. H is immediate neighbor of the persons who likes
Violet and Brown. E is immediate left of D.

4. Eight friends Romil, Ramesh, Rakesh, Rohit, Rahul, Abhijit, Abhishek


and Anil are sitting around a circular table, not necessarily in the same
order. Four of them are facing inside others are facing outside. They are
belong to eight different cities Bhopal, Patna, Kolkata, Delhi, Gwalior,
Bengaluru, Chennai and Rajkot, but not necessarily in the same order.
Abhijit faces the Centre and sits third to the right of Rakesh. Rohit belongs
to Kolkata and faces the person who belongs to Bengaluru. Abhishesk sits
third to the right of Ramesh, who stays in Bhopal. The persons who belong
to Delhi and Gwalior are facing to the same direction (inside or outside).
Rahul is sitting between the person who belongs to Kolkata and the one
from Rajkot respectively. Romil belongs to Gwalior and Rakesh belongs to
Patna. The person who belongs to Chennai is facing outward and
immediate neighbor of Rajkot. Anil is immediate neighbor of the persons
who belong to Gwalior and Chennai. Rahul is immediate left of Rohit.
5. Eight persons P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W from two families are taking
breakfast around a round table. Three members are from one family and
five belong to other family. Five of them are male members.

T, a male member is sitting second to right of V, a male member. In all
cases R has same position with respect to S, who is second to left of Q, a
female member. S is wife of W and is sitting adjacent to her husband. U is
sister of W and is not sitting exactly between V and T. Q is immediate left of
V. W is sitting immediate right of P.
6. Eight groups P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W are going for rock climbing in
different mountain ranges, viz. Aravallis, Himalayas, Satpura, Andes, Alps,
Rockies, Atlas and Appalachian but not necessarily in the same order.
These groups are also going for rafting in different rivers, viz. Ganga,
Yamuna, Narmada, Gomti, Krishna, Godavari, Jhelum and Ravi but not
necessarily in the same order. *.Group V is going neither to river Jhelum
nor to river Yamuna. Neither group U nor group V is going to raft in the
river Gomti or the river Godavari. Group T is going to the Appalachian
mountain range. Group R is going to the Andes mountain range and the
river Krishna. The one who is going to raft in the Narmada is also going to
the Appalachian mountain range. *.Group P and Q are going for rafting
either in the Godavari or Ravi. Group S does not want to raft in the Gomti
and U does not want to raft in the Yamuna. *.The group which is climbing
on the Aravallis is rafting in the Jhelum and the group which is climbing on
the Atlas is rafting in the Yamuna. P and V do not climb on the Rockies and
the Satpura. The group which is climbing on the Himalayas is rafting in the
Ravi. Group W and V climb either on Alps or on the Satpura mountain
range.
7. Lesnar, Shane McMahon, Undertaker, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose,
Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins and Rusev are eight fighters sitting around a
circular table. Four of them are facing towards the centre and four of them
are facing away from the centre. All of them like a different movie, viz.
Tamasha, Bajirao, Dilwale, Massan, Airlift, Sultan, Dangal and Ready, but
not necessarily in the same order. Dean Ambrose faces towards the centre
and likes Tamasha. Both the immediate neighbours of Dean Ambrose face
away from the centre and like Dilwale or Massan. Roman Reigns faces away
from the centre. Both the immediate neighbours of Roman Reigns do not
face away from the centre. Dean Ambrose sits third to the right of Kevin
Owens, who likes Airlift and faces away from the centre. Undertaker sits
third to the left of Kevin Owens. The one who likes Dilwale sits opposits of
Kevin Owens. The one who likes Bajirao is not the immediate neighbour of

Kevin Owens and faces away from the centre. Brock Lesnar sits second to
the left of Undertaker and does not like Dangal or Ready. The one who likes
Dangal sits between Rusev and Kevin Owens. Shane McMahon faces away
from the centre and does not like Bajirao.
8. Eight playersSachin,Virender, Mahender, Suresh, Praveen, Rahul,
Ravinder, and Dinesh are sitting in three lines L1, L2 and L3. And they are
in three different categories, either batsman or bowler or all rounder. In
each line at least two and at most three players are sitting there. And at
least two players are in each category but not more than three. Virender
and Mahender are in different lines but not in line L2, and both are in same
categories. Dinesh and Ravinder are in same line and in same categories,
but not all rounder. Suresh and Praveen are in different lines but not in line
L1 and in different categories but not all rounder. Sachin is in line L2 and
Suresh is not in same as in Sachin. Both players of line L2 are bowlers.
Rahul is all rounder and not in line L1. From three all rounder two are line
in L3. Rahul and Mahinder are in same line, and there are three batsmen.

9. A, B, C, D, E and F are six head of the different companies P, Q, R, S, T


and U but not necessarily in the same order. Each company has launched
under head guidance, the different products version- Ham raj, Iconic,
Jellybean, Kit Kat, Lollipop and Magenta but not necessarily in the same
order. The head of all companies are sitting around a circular table facing
the Centre. The persons who have given their guidance for the launching of
products Kit Kat, Jellybean and Lollipop are neither from U nor from P.
The persons who are from S and Q have given their guidance neither for Kit
Kat nor for Magenta. A is neither from U nor sits on the immediate left of
the person who has given the guidance for the launching of product Iconic.
The only person, who is between E and F, has given the guidance for the
launching of Ham raj. The person who is on the left side of the person from
U has not given the guidance for the launching of Magenta. D has given the
guidance for the launching of Iconic and is from Q. He is facing the person
who has given the guidance the launching of product Ham raj. One who has
given the guidance for the launching of Kit Kat is sitting opposite the
person from T, while the person from Q is on the left of the person who has
given the guidance for the launching of Lollipop. One who has given the
guidance for the launching of Magenta is on the immediate right of the

person from U but on the left of the person who has given the guidance for
the launching of Jellybean. C has not given the guidance for the launching

10. 7 people, namely S, T, U, V, W, X and Y will attend a function but not


necessarily in the same order, in seven different months (of the same year)
namely January, March, April, July, October, November and December.
Each of them also likes a different fabric namely Cotton, Silk, Jute,
Khaddar, Linen, Muslin and Velvet but not necessarily in the same order.
*.The one who likes cotton will attend a function in a month which has only
30 days. Only one person will attend a function between the one who likes
cotton and Y. The one who likes silk will attend a function in one of the
months after Y. Only two people will attend a function between Y and the
one who likes silk. *.Only three people will attend a function between the
one who likes cotton and the one who likes khaddar. V will attend a
function immediately before the one who likes khaddar. Only two people
will attend a function between V and U. *.S will attend a function
immediately before W. Only two people will attend a function between W
and the one who likes jute. Y likes neither linen nor muslin. The one who
likes linen will attend a function immediately before X.

11. Five friends Rosy, Mandy, Denial, Lucky and Ella like five different
watches Titan, Samay, Sonata, Citizen and Fastrack 5 different cars Wagon
R, Alto, Santro, Swift and Xylo & 5 different pens Reynolds, Parker, Cello,
Montex and Elkos. Ella like wagon R car but not like Parker pen and Citizen
Watch; lucky likes sonata watch and Reynolds pens but not like Xylo car.
Mandy likes Xylo car and Samay watch. Rosy like Santro car and Cello pen,
person who likes wagon R car likes Fastrack watch. Elkos pen is liked by a
person who has swift car and citizen watch.

12. 7 students Lipin, Naresh, Pooja, Reema, Udit, Charan and Yasim and a
teacher Anjali are sitting around a circular table facing the center, but not
necessarily in the same order.

The rank of Yasim is an even number but not 4. Pooja sits third to the left of
Lipin. Lipins immediate neighbours are not the students who have attained
ranks 3 or 6. The immediate neighbours of Naresh are Charan and Lipin.
There are 4 ranks between rank of Pooja and rank of Lipin. The student
who has attained rank 1 is not sitting next to the student who has attained
rank 3. Rank of Naresh is rank 5. The rank of any two students sitting just
opposite to each other is either both odd or both even. Lipin is sitting just
opposite to Anjali. Reema is not sitting immediately next to the teacher.
The student who has attained the highest marks and hence the first rank is
to sit immediately to the left of the teacher.
13. Amit, Arun, Ajay, Arvind, Amar, Amarjeet, Avinash and Ajit are eight
friends studying in engineering colleges in different streams, viz
Aeronautical engineering, computer engineering, chemical engineering,
electronic engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, mechanical
engineering and technical engineering, but not in the same order. All of
them are seated around a circular table, facing centre. Amit sits third to the
left of the person who studies electrical engineering. Only two persons sit
between Amar and Avinash. Neither Amar nor Avinash studies electrical
engineering. The person who studies technical engineering sits second to
the right of Arvind. Arvind is not an immediate neighbour of Amit. Arvind
does not study electrical engineering and Amit does not study technical
engineering. The one who studies Aeronautical engineering sits third to the
left of Amarjeet. The one who studies Aeronautical engineering and the one
who studies electrical engineering are not immediate neighbours. Only one
person sits between Arvind and the one who studies chemical engineering.
The person who studies electronic engineering and the one who studies
computer engineering are immediate neighbours. Only one person sits
between Arun and the one who studies civil engineering. The one who
studies civil engineering is an immediate neighbour of Ajit. Avinash and
Arun are not immediate neighbours. Arvind does not study computer
engineering.

14. Edward and his family live in a house. There are nine members in the
family i.e. Edward, Daniel, Helen, Denise, Emily, Alan, James, Henrich and
Alfred. Each person likes different colours viz. Brown, Red, Black, White,
Blue, Violet, Yellow, Green and Purple. The relation of Edward with the
members is defined as Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Wife, Daughter,
Son, and Brother-in-law but not in the same order. All the family members

them face the centre while others face outward.Alfred is brother of
Edwards daughter. Edwards brother is seated on the immediate right of
the brother of Edwards sister and the two face the same direction. Alfreds
father likes Red colour. Henrich has a sister. The mother of Edwards son is
Emily and sits second to the left of the married son of Edwards father.
Alans daughter-in-law likes Purple colour. Edward faces outward. Alan is a
male. Edwards father sits third to the right Edwards daughter. Either
Alfred or Henrich sits third to the left of the mother of Helen, but both
Alfred and Henrich face the same direction. Edwards brother and sister
likes Black and Brown colour respectively. James is not father of Henrich.
In two generations, the members of the same generation are sitting
immediate next to each other and face the same direction. Edwards father
does not like Green and Yellow colour. Alans grandson likes White colour.
Daniel is a female and of the same generation as of Edward. James sits on
the immediate left of the granddaughter of Edwards father. The one, who is
the wife of Alan likes Yellow colour. Edwards brother-in-law neither likes
Green colour nor blue colour. Edwards father doesnt sit immediate next to
his children. James is facing the centre and is second to the right of
Edward. Daniel sits second to the left of Alan. No three members seated
together can face the same direction.

15. Raju, Ramesh, Rita and Reena are 4 students of different classroom
coaching centres of XYZ, a leading classroom coaching centre for Banking
aspirants.Each belongs to a different state, ie UP, Uttarakhand, Bihar and
Odisha, but not necessarily in the same order.XYZ arranged an All India
Mock-Test series for all the classroom coaching centres students of XYZ in
4 cities Bangalore, Kolkata, Dehradun and Chennai.The students Raju,
Ram, Rita and Reena appeared for the test series in different cities. When
the results were declared they got first to fourth position in All-India
ranking. They were students of XYZ, ie Lucknow, Delhi, Patna and Cuftack,
but not necessarily in the same order.The one who appeared at the
Bangalore test centre got the 4th position in All-India ranking. But he is not
Ramesh. The one who appeared at Chennai for the test got the first
position. The one who belongs to Uttarakhand got the third position, while
the one who studied at the Lucknow centre got the second position in All-
India ranking.Raju and Ramesh studied neither at the Lucknow centre not
at Delhi. They appeared for test neither at Kolkata nor at Dehradun. They
belong neither to Odisha nor to Uttarakhand.The one who studied at the
Patna centre does not belong to Bihar. The one who belongs to Uttarakhand

16. Eight friends A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H were sitting around a circular


table facing the centre, but not necessarily in the same order. Each one of
them was born in a different month from January to August.

A sat third to the left of the person who was born in August. The person
who was born in June sat second to the left of the person who was born in
May. F and D were immediate neighbours. Neither F nor D was an
immediate neighbour of either G or the person who was born in April. The
person who was born in March sat second to the right of E. E was born in
neither April nor July. B and the person who was born in January were
immediate neighbours. G was not born in January. Only one person sat
between F and the person who was born in February. C sat second to the
right of the person who was born in April. The person who was born in
July was immediate neighbour of the person who was born in April. Two
persons sat between the person who was born in July and G.
