Chapter 33 Toolpaths for Boat


HST Rough OptiCore and Finish Waterline
A. Machine Type and Stock Setup.
Step 1. If necessary, open your file BOAT ROUND BOTTOM file.

Step 2. If necessary, display Operations Manager. Use Alt-O.

Step 3. If Machine

played in Opera-
tions Manager,
click Machine
Type Menu >
Mill > Default,

Step 4. Expand Properties (click +) in Toolpaths

Step 5. Click Stock Setup in Toolpaths Manager,

Step 6. Click left front top corner of the stock Click corner to

B. Rough OptiCore HST Toolpath.


Step 1. Click the down arrow of Set Planes
in the toolbar and click Top (WCS), Fig 4.

Step 2. Click Toolpaths Menu > Surface High
Speed > OptiCore.

Step 3. Click OK in
the NC name dialog,

Step 4. Click both surfaces to select as Drive surfaces, Fig. 6. Drive

The surfaces will highlight when selected.

D. Finish Waterline HST Toolpath.
Step 1. Use Toggle toolpath display in
Toolpaths Manager (Alt-T) to turn off
toolpath display, Fig. 23.

Step 2. Copy OptiCore Roughing toolpath in


the Toolpaths Manager. To copy, hold
right mouse button and drag the Sur-
face High Speed toolpath down under
the operations. Release mouse button
and click Copy After from menu,

Step 4. Select Toolpath Type from tree control and select:
