How to register QlikView Developer and Server without Internet

access
Register QlikView Developer

Open QlikView
From the menu click Settings and then User Preferences
Select the tab License and click Change

Enter the 16 digit QlikView Developer license under License Key
Enter the 5 digit control number under Control Number

Enter your name under User Name and organization name under Organization
When done, click Next
Select your region from the drop down menu

Read the End User License Agreement and click I agree to proceed.
QlikView will now contact the QlikTech license server and verify the serial and control
number.

If no connection to the Internet is available or local policy prohibits external access, you will be
presented with the following dialogue.
To proceed with the registration select Enter My License Information and click
Continue.
You will need to enter your LEF information (License Enabler File) at this point. It can be
obtained from the QlikView Partner Portal using a valid license key.
When you have the LEF information, paste it into the dialogue window and click Next

QlikView Developer will now verify your information, if successful you will see this
screen.

Register QlikView Server
Open the QlikView Server Enterprise Management Console.

Select Status and then Services.
If the service is running properly the Status for QVS should say Unlicensed.
Select System from the top menu.

Select License from the sub menu.
Select QlikView Server.

Select QlikView Server License.
The license field will be blank.

You will need to enter your LEF information (License Enabler File) at this point. It can be
obtained from the QlikView Partner Portal using a valid license key.
When you have the LEF information, paste it into a new text document and save as
Lef.txt into the following folder;
C:\ProgramData\QlikTech (Windows 7, Vista and 2008 Server)
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\QlikTech\ (Windows XP and 2003
Server)

From the QlikView Server Enterprise Management Console enter;

License key into the Serial Number field.
Control number into the Control field.

Paste the LEF information.
Enter your name into the Name field
Enter your organization into the Organization field.
Click Apply License

QlikView Server will now verify your information.

Select Status top menu.
Select Services from the sub menu.

If the service is running properly the Status for QVS should say Service is running without
any reported problems.
