Dear Patrick,

First, let me say thank you for your past support.

For the past 17 years, I've been blessed to serve the people ofSouth Dakota as a
State's Attorney, a State Representative, and now as aState Senator and Chairman of the
Senate Judiciary Committee.

South Dakota is strong because of the values of her citizens.

Whether you're in Brookings or anywhere else in our state, our values are strong.
We work hard, we don't spend money we don't have, and we take care of ourselves,just as
we do our neighbors when they need it.

But despite recent victories on the national level,South Dakota has had its share of
attacks against the values vou and I support.

Now more than ever, we need a strongAttorney General to protect these values.

That's wh\' I'm running to be our next Attome\' General. and ifs wh, I hope I have
earned vour support for this campaign. Patrick.

A lot has changed since the Russell family first moved here in the early 1900 s. One
thing is the same, however:South Dakota is still one of the finest places on earth to raise a
family and pursue the American dream.

Both my wifeStarla and I, as life-longSouth Dakota residents, are fortunate to raise

our four children, Julia, WatTen, Grant, and Madison, inSouth Dakota with the same
values we grew up with.

I loveSouth Dakota and I'm passionate about serving our communities. In fact,
service with family and to community is how I grew up.

My great-grandfather was a mayor. my father was a district judge and was my
