Goal: General Background Information of American Revolution.

Question: What happened before American Revolution?

By 1775, people tremendously escaped to North America with an approximate of 2 million

Europeans due to religious conflict in Europe. Some evacuated for greater economic and new
opportunities for their freedom since in Europe, it was literally impossible for poor people to get
improved for better lives. Among 2 million Europeans, 1.5 million people mostly came from Britain
and had set up 13 colonies on the east coast in North America.

Reflection: I enabled to complete my expected goal. After researching, I have found out the general
background of the revolution. Fortunately, my previous school had taught me about this revolution
and some of the intellectual movements; therefore I have taken some of advantages more than
others.

Goal: Seven Years War or the French Indian War
Question: What Seven Years War a strain on economy?

In the meantime, French made the attempt to establish numbers of lands as fur trade was very
profitable at that period; therefore France and Britain went over to a battle for seven years and this
war is known as Seven Years War or the French Indian War where native American tribes
accompanied with French because of less immoral than those British people. Despite the triumph
of Britain, they had received a serious strain on the economy since high expenses.

Reflection: After completing general background information of American Revolution, my next

research indicated what the background led to big event. I finished explaining the Seven Years
War. For the next topic, my learning process would begin mentioning what originated the
revolution.

Goal: Origin of Revolution
Question:What led to revolution?

As the economy of Britain was tending to decline, the British government had thought that colonies
should help them to pay the cost of the war by not only putting in higher taxes but also placing in
the controls on lives in 13 colonists. In a few years later, the passing more passing laws from the
government caused the discontent between colonies and the government. Eventually, people had
come up with question about the nature of relationship between people and government power.

Reflection: The origin of revolution had taken longer than other previous topic, since it has lot of
information to summarise to shorten into a passage. This topic will definitely connect to the next
topic since before the great reformation will be emerged, there must be something influence those
people.

GoalThe origin of influence of 13 colonist
Question: Who influenced them to revolt?

There some educated groups of people began studying the intellectual movement in 17th and 18th
centuries referring to Enlightenment. Many people changed some of their original beliefs where
they started thinking by logic, reason, and rational. Additionally, scientific method is a part of
Enlightenment where men like Newton applied the laws of physics in use.

Reflection: The influence of 13 colonists literally have shown the connection to the origin of
revolution. I also have learnt from this topic that during the intellectual movements they led to many
changes. For the next upcoming research, it will reveals about John Locke, the famous philosopher
with his popular theory.

Goal:John Locke with his influence to American Revolution
Question: How his theory changed peoples attitude?

John Locke was an English philosopher who used the Enlightenment ideas to politics and
government. Lockeanism believed that humans are born to deserve natural rights and
governments responsibility to protect people from government. His influence strongly affected 13
colonists to come up with the reformation against Britain by not respecting their rights and being
harsh on them. Subsequently, colonies no longer had representatives from British parliament;
hence they thought that Britain had no right to force them to pay on taxes and continue following
the laws. NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION then became a popular slogan using for
opposition.

Reflection: John Locke is one of the popular philosophers to study at. His Lockeanism has
illustrated influence to 13 colonists people. If I were to choose between John Locke or Thomas
Hobbes, I would stay on Lockes side. I agree that people are allowed to overthrown a government
that it does not well manage its country.
