 Tradition in manufacturing
Founded in 1948, BISON-BIAL is the largest
manufacturer of technological tooling
for machining in Poland and has been an
industry world leader for many decades. At
its inception, the company manufactured
both bench vices and machine vices and,
in 1950, launched the production of lathe
chucks.

During this time, half of BISON-BIALs export

production was devoted to the Soviet
Union, its biggest customer, and the breach
of relations in 1990 caused a crisis in the
factory. The company overcame the crisis on
its own and became a Joint Stock Company
in 1991 and was privatized in 1997.

In the sixties and seventies, BISON-BIAL

developed its existing manufacturing halls
and established new plants in Bielsk Podlaski,
Kolno and Bialystok. The company began
focusing on exports and product quality
became first-class. In 1972, the company
was one of the first to introduce Computer
Management Systems in Poland and
computerization quickly became a corner-
stone in all spheres of its activity.

Lathe Chucks
You can choose from one of BISON-BIALs
famous Lathe Chucks. They are built in two
main lines: standard and precision.

Power Chucks
BISON-BIALSs Power Chucks are made from high quality forged
alloy steel. Their fundamental advantages are high load carrying
capacity, durability and high clamping accuracy and repeatability.

Machine and Bench Vises

BISON-BIAL manufactures Vises for fitters works as well
as for Milling and grinding operations with the option of
palletizing.

Milling Fixtures
Rotary Tables and Indexing Fixtures are designed for
milling, drilling, grinding and marking-off operations
and permit equal and unequal indexing.

VDI - Toolholders

Cast Iron Foundry

We offer the following services performed in our own foundry:
Manufacture castings according to customers drawings or individually designed by our engineers
with two methods of forming: machine forming and manual forming
Manufacture castings of shafts
Relief annealing operation of customers castings in our fully automatic heat treatment facility
with exact temperature and time control
Our customers can choose from a variety of casting surface finishing methods: shot blasting, barrel
finishing, with anticorrosion coating primers being the most popular.
We can also perform the pre-machining operations of casting surfaces according to agreed upon
technical specifications.
In addition, we have the capability to prepare castings with the use of customers models and templates.
We offer you advice and consulting on your special projects.

Heat Treatment Departament

Several of our product parts are heat treated and as a result, we are able to offer this special service to
our customers. As with our other products and services, customers can be confident of our expertise
and sensitivity to price when requesting a special service.

 ISO Certification

At BISON-BIAL we take great pride in the fact that the BISON logo has long been a symbol of
excellence, a reputation that has been supported by our ISO 9001:2001 certification.

Where did ISO 9000 come from and why is it important?

With the advent of globalization and increasing international trade came the need for an
internationally recognized benchmark for quality. As a result, in 1987, the International
Organization for Standardization (ISO) created the ISO 9000 series for quality standardization.

ISO 9001 is comprised of universal quality management standards, based on eight principles:
customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, process approach, system approach to
management, continual improvement, factual approach to decision making, and mutually
beneficial supplier relationships. In order to maintain its ISO 9001 certification status, a company
must undergo multiple internal audits each year and an external audit every two years. To date,
most European countries have officially adopted ISO 9000 standards.
