festival.

symbolic objects/ craft items/ foods.
Building an original piece based on personal research of the
artist chosen and of the festival and traditions themselves.
Knowledge & Understanding
Students will gain knowledge of the festival and customs
and beliefs studied
Students will gain knowledge of the process of design
through concept boards, thorough research and planning.
Students will gain knowledge on a variety of mediums and
techniques while developing varied items for their Altar.

YOU WILL BE ASSESSED ON:

Criteria A: Knowing and Understanding (research task on Frida Kahlo or Jose Guadalupe Posada)
Criteria D: Responding (connecting your research to your own work as well as anaylising the effectiveness of your work and
the work of others)

YOU WILL:
Build an Altar in the style of Dia de Los Muertos for your chosen artist (either Frida Kahlo or Jose Guadalupe Posada) based on the
research you have done of the artist and of the festival and Altar building specifically.
The majority of the items on the Altar should be made by yourself.
Peer evaluate in supportive and meaningful language.
Evaluate your final work in an honest and realistic manner.
