Arrangement of facilities in the ghats for spiritual activities for the priests in
the temple and the pilgrims visiting the site.
Proper Circulation in the ghats by the means of architectural principles and

Design Concept:
As we were designing focusing on the cultural aspects of Hinduism. Its main
principles were incorporated into the spaces in the precinct.
These principles included Artha(economy), Dharma(righteousness),
Kama(Desire), Moksh(Peace).
So, in the site these principles were applied according to the spaces where
such activities were to be performed.

requirement of the activity.
Essential accommodation facilities i.e. Dharamshalas, were done outside the
ghat area for the direct connection of the priests and the pilgrims to the
ghat area.
Employment facilities were introduced by the design of commercial areas
specialising in garlands etc.
The Control of over population was an impact due to the design of the area.

Assessment of the Fulfilment of the Objectives

The people live in communal harmony as the spaces for communal activities
are present including washing which is the core activity in Boldavadi.
The social life of the people is good as the public participation plays a big
role for the farmers there.
The houses constructed in the area are heat resistant during summers and
vice versa. This is because of the use of mud as a walling material and
conical roof tiles leading to the favourability of living.
The initiative taken by the government under the scheme of CSV, for the
employment is working well as per the present scenario.
Useful tree plantations for landscaping as well as medicinal purposes were
initiated by CSV increasing the affordable value of the land.
Water supply to individual household ant two bore wells drilled for the
requirement of water in the village.
