Subject: New PT100 temperature sensor with improved
electric plug and socket

Fig. 1 The PT100 temperature sensors are now being

used in many of SABROEs applications and this
with a good result. However, it has been brought to
our attention that the electric plug and socket are
not sufficiently durable and consequently have to be
replaced in some situations due to crack formations.
That is why we now introduce a new PT100 tempe-
rature sensor as illustrated in fig.1 which has a new
and considerably more durable plug and socket.
This new PT100 sensor completely replaces the for-
mer sensor and is fitted in its place together with the
DKA sealing ring, included in the delivery, as shown
in fig. 4.
However, we consider this replacement of the for-
mer temperature sensors necessary only in cases
where these are found defective.

On ordering a PT100 temperature sensor as a spare part only the new type will
be delivered from SABROE. This entails that the new plug must be fitted on the ca-
ble connection. The plug is taken apart by turning union nut pos. A whereby
the top pos. B can be removed and the cable fitted as shown on the following draft,
fig. 2, as well as on the current wiring diagram.

The stated numbers shown in fig. 3 are cast into the end surfaces of the plug in
very small figures.

Slot

The complete plug can be dismantled from the PT100 sensor by turning union nut
pos. C. This can be done without depressurizing the refrigeration plant.

On refitting of the plug a tap in the socket on pos. D will fit into the slot shown in fig.
3 and in this way ensure that the electrical connection is correct.

Before the union pos. C is tightened it is possible, by a careful turning of the electric
plug/socket, to obtain a correct orientation of the cable entry.

With the new PT100 sensor it is further possible to remove sensor element pos. D
without depressurizing the refrigeration plant. This is done by an initial dismantling
of the plug followed by a removal of the sensor element by means of a pair of pointed
pliers.

On mounting the sensor element sealing ring pos. E must be fitted.

be delivered from SABROE.

For your information we enclose two wiring diagrams no. 3448-235 and 3448-236 for
screw- and reciprocating compressors, respectively. The wiring diagrams illustrate
the connection of the temperature sensor to UNISAB II.
