Paul Grace-Campbell, executive director at The Lang-
ham says, We are very excited that CBT has joined BC/
Canada 150 to make such a significant investment in The
Langham. It allows us to continue our primary mandate
the stewardship of this award-winning structure, beau-
tiful heritage site, and dynamic arts and culture centre.
Grace-Campbell says that The Langhams two awards
form the core of a major improvements project for the 121
year old building. We have had a very successful capital
campaign and raised considerable funds towards some
much needed building upgrades. We anticipate the total
budget to be in the $170,000 range, so this is a major proj-
ect for the Langham.
Among other items, the improvements project will
include repainting the Langhams exterior, installation of a
heat pump system to cool and heat the theatre, replacement
and refurbishment of old doors and windows and an over-
haul of the Japanese-Canadian Museum and art gallery.
In 2014 the Langham building was named one of the
best buildings in BC by the Architecture Foundation of
British Columbia. Thats right up there with the Empress
Hotel and Parliament Building in Victoria. says Grace-
Campbell. We are very grateful to CBT and BC/Canada
150 for their generous support and their recognition of
what a special place the Langham is not only for the
Kootenays, but for the province as a whole.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of
Max. All who knew Max will remember his love and joy for life,
his humour and constant smile and his calm presence. We can
have comfort knowing he is home with his Lord Jesus Christ.
Max was predeceased by his father Onufrey Nahnychuk (1976),
mother Roberta Ruth (2013), his older brother Dale Edey
(2008), and nephew Waylon Edey (2015).
He is survived by his wife Colleen, brother Michael of Fort St.
John, sisters Kathy (Curt) of Tacoma, Maxine (Doug) of Vic-
toria, Barbara of Burnaby, Elaine (Jim) of Kamloops, Michele
(Les) of Whistler, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,
great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and close friends.
Max was about to move into missions in Argentina.
His passion, love and eagerness to share about this made him
glow. Missions was something Max was fiercely passionate
about. As an expression of sympathy please donate in Maxs hon-
our to your local or global organization or missionary.
