Our Mission Do it Right

There is an old adage that says, "if something is worth doing, it's worth doing right."
Simplistic? Not to us. Since opening our doors, ACCW has continually strived to do things
only one way - the right way

To demonstrate honesty and integrity in all matters. To be cooperative and flexible in our
dealings with customers, employees and suppliers. To aim for excellence, accepting only
quality workmanship from ourselves and our associates. To make customer service our number
one priority - doing whatever it takes to complete all work on schedule and to full customer
satisfaction. To build a company based on team spirit and high morale, being proud of what
we do and how we do it

Corporate Governance Structure

The ACCW basic principles of corporate governance are to establish corporate ethics
at the same time as developing its business, to secure the fairness, transparency and
appropriateness of its decision-making processes through a system of internal checks,
and to safeguard risk management and compliance.

Corporate Governance Structure

The Board of Directors, which consists of 5 directors, makes decisions on important

matters relating to corporate management and supervises the work of the directors and
corporate officers. The creation of the role of corporate officer in June 2005 has
revitalized the Board of Directors and has enabled its decisions to be implemented in a
timelier manner by separating management and execution functions.

The Management Council, which meets twice a month, discusses in an open and
expeditious manner important matters to be submitted to the Board of Directors. The
Management Council, which consists of the full-time directors, discusses management
strategies, basic policies and other important management issues in a flexible manner.
In order to allow for the publication of important management issues, a Full-time
Executive Meeting, attended by directors and officers, is held periodically.

The Board of Corporate Auditors consists of three auditors, two of whom are external
appointees. Auditors participate in Board of Directors meetings and other important
meetings and monitor the directors in the performance of their duties to improve
management transparency.

Risk Management

At ACCW, we will neither conceal information nor be stained, act negligently or be

selfish. We will detect latent risks and deal with them before they manifest themselves.
Should any such risk manifest itself, we will minimize the resulting damage and loss.

Risk Registration Book to Manage Various Risks

A companys business activities involve latent risks that may make the continuation of
business impossible. Risk management is very important and is indispensable to the
ongoing business activities of a company.

Until last year, we used a risk map to manage risk. In fiscal 2006, the Risk
Management Committee drew up a risk registration book in which risks are ranked in
accordance with the potential loss amount and the probability of occurrence in order to
provide an overview of such risks to the heads of the various risk management
sections. This risk registration book is now used to prioritize risks and manage risks
more effectively.

Destruction and reduction of natural environment, noise and vibration at urban area,
soil contamination, water pollution. In the 21st century, human being faces thousands
of environmental problems. Acquisition of technology for conservation and restoration
of environment will become the social needs. The company works on a role of
development and progress of eco-technology - restoration of ecosystem and greening,
purification of polluted rivers and lakes, curbing construction waste.

Conservation of Natural Landscape

Concrete structure became the most popular construction material in the 20th century
for its advantage of stiffness, long-lasting, applicability and economical features. But
in recent years, these features are not always versatile -i.e., weakness against shear
strength, surface weathering, less harmonize with surrounding landscape.

GEOFIBER is the answer for boring concrete surface and its structural disadvantage.
Core technology of GEOFIBER, the continuous fibre reinforced soil, gives pseudo
cohesion, erosion resistance, permeability and increases residual strain to the sandy
material with multi filament fibre. Together with soil nailing and surface vegetation,
it gives a perfect protection to the rock face and a plant growth base. GEOFIBER will
be the most advantageous method for the next century for conservation and restoration
of natural environment.

Pipe Renewal System (Underground Drainage Pipe Upgrade)

Thousands of degraded drainage pipes exist under cities in the country. Although the
seepage and blockage occur at the underground, maintenance and renovation of
drainage pipes are not easy.

Pipe renewal system is a method for fully upgrading the old drainage system with
minimum cost and space. It follows old drainage structure, and upgrade the drainage
at once as soon as the area is drilled. Temporary drainage system allows continuous
flow without any interruption.

Pipe Renewal System is a convenient method for upgrading drainage system not only
for the limited urban space but also for economic way to rehabilitate infrastructure.

Repair and Upgrade Shotcrete Slopes - ReSP

Conventional method for degraded old concrete was to rip off the shotcreted surface
followed by new application of shotcrete. During this exercise huge amount of concrete
chip was produced and occupy the road during its application. ReSP is a method using
steel reinforced concrete and shear bolts to cover and reinforce old shotcreted surface.

Social infrastructure will become superannuated after a couple decades. The structures
constructed under the period of high economic growth have exceeded their expected
life. Degradation and erosion of these structures has become a social problem. It is
expected that Japanese policy will move toward maintenance and renovation phase
rather than building new infrastructure. ACCW technology for maintenance and
renovation is based on high technology for foundation. With its research and
development for new technology and utilizing our experience, ACCW contributes for
the healthy function of infrastructure in use.

RECYCLING

Reuse of Construction Waste

Reuse of Logged Tree
Water Purification
Industrial Waste Recycling

Lifestyle based on mass production, mass consumption, and mass disposal is over.
Recent public focuses on recycling society with a low impact on the environment and
reuse and/or reduce resources and energy. Therefore, ACCW is active on creation of
technology for reduction of environmental burdens by minimizing the production of
industrial wastes. For the realization of zero emission society, methods of not only low
cost for but also low impact on environment are under development.

Reuse of Waste
Huge amount of construction waste is produced at the project site of land reclamation
and development. Reuse of construction waste material is essential for minimizing the
environmental burdens. Construction wastes such as soil, mud and dredge soil are
processed to physically stable material by adding chemical admixture. For
solidification, dehydration, and contamination cleanup, the system will provide
required treatments at the project site.

efforts

Environmental Management System (EMS)

The characteristics of our EMS are set out below.

1. Environmental Conservation Activities

Significant environmental aspects (operations that may have a large impact on

the environment) are studied at the head office and communicated to branches.
Significant environmental aspects are revised at our branches, taking into
account regional environmental regulations, etc., and are communicated to
individual sites.
Significant environmental aspects are revised again at our sites, taking into
account local factors, and environmental conservation activities are initiated on
the basis of such environmental aspects.

2. Management Review

The branch manager periodically reviews the results of environmental

conservation activities and gives instructions on how to improve such activities.

Development of Environmentally Friendly Technologies

The characteristics of our EMS are set out below.

AGM Construction & Civil Works Limited carries out all its research and development
in line with the company's basic principle - "To contribute to the development of a
flourishing environment that enables harmony between people and nature" - and in response
to the demands of society, that technology should aid conservation and reduce burden on the
environment. In particular, pre-stressed concrete (PC) technology, with its outstanding
resource saving properties and durability, is useful not just in bridge construction, but also
building construction and underground works. We aim to be a construction company with the
special characteristic of having this PC at our core.

AGM Construction & Civil Works Limited 24

Company Profile ACCW.CP.001.2009

Environmentally Aware Design R & D

Research and development of the PCaPC method

Research and development is being carried out on pre-cast (prefabrication) method

factory manufacture of concrete columns and beams, and of PC combined design
(PCaPC method) for building construction.

1. Conservation Effect
The concrete columns and beams, floors and walls that make up the frameworks
of buildings are manufactured in factories, and because of this pre-casting
(prefabrication) of building parts, it is possible to greatly reduce the amount of
waste material generated at these construction sites compared to older sites

Because a large number of the same concrete parts are manufactured in

factories, it is possible to make concrete moulding frames from reusable,
recyclable steel, reducing the required amount of plywood and so helping to save
the tropical forests

By combining pre-stressed concrete, which uses high strength concrete and PC

steel, with isolation and earthquake control systems, it becomes possible to
design highly durable, high quality buildings

Development of PC Girder Using Super High Strength Mortar

Development of the DUCSS Beam Method

At our company, we used silica fume cement as a binding agent for high strength
concrete in cement, and developed the DUCSS Beam Method.

1. Conservation Effect

Silica fume is produced as a by-product of the manufacture of ferrosilicon or

ferrosilicon alloy, as the raw material fluorite reaches about 2000 and some of
the gas emission is collected in extractors.

The DUCSS Beam Method uses silica fume cement, and the water cement ratio
is low at less than 20%. This means it has outstanding neutral resistance,
resistance to freezing and melting, and resistance to chloride ion penetration. It
consequently has excellent durability and allows structures a much longer
lifespan.

Development of Towers made of Ultra Intensity Fibre Reinforced Mortar

Development of duck poles

Antennae must be set up to facilitate the use of cellular phones. While in urban areas
antennae can be set on the roofs of high buildings, in rural areas where there are no
high buildings it is necessary to build 30 m-high towers on which to place antennae.
In the past, steel pipes were used to build such towers. We have developed pre-stressed
concrete towers (duck poles), which are made of ultra-intensity fibre-reinforced
mortar. Duck poles parts are manufactured separately and assembled on site to be
erected as towers. Duck poles provide durable, aesthetic and cost-effective antenna
towers.

Antenna tower made using steel pipes Duck pole towers Structure of a duck pole

Environmental safety

1. Duck poles last for more than 100 years without maintenance because they are made
of ultra-intensity fibre-reinforced mortar, which is both salt and frost-resistant.

2. Duck poles are slimmer than steel towers because of the strength of the material used,
enabling them to blend in more with the scenery.
