Following the main items of above mentioned report in the form of extracts:

1. Introduction
Abbreviations and nomenclature are made of in various documents in terms of engineering, approval,
erection & commissioning, operating and maintenance of power plants, such as:

a) functional diagrams, measuring point list, valve list etc. and are thus quoted in general descriptions
and on labels.
The space for nomenclature is limited by the C&I engineering system,
at the moment 20 digits are available.

b) black panal alarm system.


The space for nomenclature is 16 digits.

2. Abbreviations
Some words are not abbreviated in combination with abbreviations of other words,
e. g. cold, feed, main, oil etc. Only in terms/ abbreviation structures they may be used in abbreviated forms.

With respect to safety and health or if misunderstanding could cause damages, and if there are enough
uncovered digits, some words having an abbreviation should be written in full diction, e. g. alarm, safety.

Single words are abbreviated for individual use and in word combinations.
For some words the syllable division will be marked by a slash, e. g. BYPASS = B/P.

Word combinations are arrangements of diverse single word abbreviations,


single word abbreviations with nonabbreviated words or terms. Between each of them there shall be a blank.

Many word combination (terms) have their own abbreviation due to various reasons.
Some are traditional and some are combinations of words not having an abbreviation of their own.
Mostly msuch that this structures are shorter as a word combination.
