Behringer BCF2000 Controller Template

Using a hardware controller with Stylus RMX gives you maximum control
over your groove production. You can edit, re-mix, and manipulate RMX
grooves instantly in real time. Its powerful, fun, and musically rewarding!

There are two main steps to perform in order to get started; loading the
MIDI sysex data for the BCF2000, and selecting the template in Stylus RMX.

The BCF2000 features a great collection of faders, push-style encoders and

switches. The template takes full advantage of those features every single
control is used.
STEP 1 SET UP THE BCF2000

Make sure you have installed the hardware and software for the BCF2000
according to Behringers documentation.

MIDI system exclusive preset data must be sent to the BCF2000. You can
use any sys-ex utility that supports .syx files.

For Mac OSX, we suggest SysEx Librarian, a freeware tool available at:

http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/

For PC, we recommend MIDI-OX, which is available at:

http://www.midiox.com/moxdown.htm

TRANSFERRING SYSEX TO THE BCF2000

IMPORTANT - This procedure places preset data into BCF2000

temporary memory. After you have transferred the sysex file, you
will need to STORE it to the desired preset location.

1. Open the RMX_BCF2000.syx file in the Sysex tool you have chosen.

The file is located in the Behringer BCF-2000 support directory within

the MIDI Learn directory.

/SAGE/Stylus RMX/Patches/MIDI Learn/Behringer BCF-2000/RMX_BCF2000.syx

2. Initiate a sysex transfer to the BCF2000. You will see the display on
the BCF2000 flashing. Once the transfer is complete, the flashing will
stop.

3. The preset data is now in the temporary memory buffer of the

BCF2000. To save it permanently, be sure to press the STORE button
on the BCF2000, select the destination preset location for storage, and
then press STORE again.
STEP 2 SET UP STYLUS RMX

Make sure you have Stylus RMX version 1.5 or above installed.

SELECT THE CONTROLLER TEMPLATE IN RMX

From the Stylus RMX Utility menu (the button denoted with a Floppy icon),
select MIDI Learn / Load Template.

Select the template Behringer BCF-2000.ctl_rmx

You are ready to control Stylus RMX from the BCF2000.

USING RMX AND THE BCF2000

The Behringer BCF-2000.ctl_rmx template works with the preset you

stored in the BCF2000.

Be sure that your host application is sending MIDI to RMX; then load grooves
into all 8 parts.

The table at the end of this document shows how the BCF2000 hardware
controls are mapped to Stylus RMX. Have fun exploring the amazing features
of Stylus RMX from your hardware controller!
CREATE AND SHARE YOUR OWN TEMPLATES

The template we have provided is only the beginning of what you can do with
your hardware controller and Stylus RMX. Weve provided a blank table for
you to document your own Controller Template creations. You will find it in
the User Template Tools folder, which is located inside the MIDI Learn
directory on your hard drive.

/SAGE/Stylus RMX/Patches/MIDI Learn/User Template Tools/)

We encourage you to create your own templates, and then share them at the
Yahoo Spectrasonics User Group:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/spectrasonics/

Enjoy using Stylus RMX with your BCF2000.

Best regards,

The Spectrasonics Team
