esan Separated and Divorced Healing Ministry at Mt.
Carmel Spiritual Centre and ministers on the St.
Thomas More Parish Bereavement Team. Anna is
the recipient of the 2015 Niagara Catholic Award of
Distinction for her twenty years of service in Church
Ministry and with the Niagara Catholic District

World Mission Sunday - October 22nd
Every parish across the world will celebrate World
Mission Sunday next week. It is a global sign of the
Universal Church and mission. Your prayers and
donations will help support churches, hospitals,
schools and vocations in countries where the Church
is beginning, where it is new. World Mission Sunday
is our chance to assist Catholic Communities
throughout the world become self sufficient and
flourish. By sharing the gift of faith we can bring
hope and love to those who need it most. Enve-
lopes are attached to the weekend bulletin or you
can pick one up at the entrance table. Please return
your envelope next weekend.

There was a time when
people dressed up for
Mass, concerts, even
airline travel. Men wore
suits and ties; women
wore hats, gloves, and
high heels. Life is differ-
ent today but most of us
understand about proper
dress.
Todays parable story is about suitable dress.
Since we defensively know this story is probably
about us, we collectively wish the king would lighten
up a bit. It seems unfair that we be tied up and
tossed out into the night just because we didnt
wear a proper wedding garment.
But, the parable teaches us that the garment of
salvation is provided to those who follow Jesus.
God invites us to attend the eternal banquet in honor
of his Son. To not wear the provided wedding gar-
ment is a rebellious act; it implies that we do not be-
lieve that Jesus is the Son of God. --Dc. Dick Folger
YOUth Blasters Fall Schedule
Attention all youth grades 3 and up, if you haven't
already registered for YOUth Blast, please pick up
the orange registration form on the entrance table
and bring it to our next meeting. Any young musi-
cians are welcome to bring their instruments as we
prepare our next liturgical song! We look forward to

November 5th & 26th from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

is a Diocesan wide program to kick off our
2 year initiative of reaching out to the
Homeless in our communities. We will be
collecting socks for the entire month of October. You
CAN bring your donations of new mens, ladies and
childrens socks to the to the parish office during
the week or bring them to the November CWL meet-
ing. Help us to help others have a warmer winter.

Diocesan Anniversary Mass & Dinner
Married couples celebrating a 25th, 40th, 50th or 60th
anniversary in the year 2017 are invited to the Dioc-
esan Anniversary Mass, Monday, November 27th,
at 5:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Al-
exandria. To register and to receive a formal invita-
tion from Bishop Bergie, contact the parish office im-
mediately to fill in a form (now due). A dinner will be
held at Club Roma, St. Catharines @ 7 p.m. Details
of dinner cost will be included in the formal invitation.
The Book of Remembrance
Traditionally the month of November is a time when
we remember in prayer all who have died.
The Book of Remembrance is now in the en-
trance of the church for the remainder of the
month of October. You are invited to write in the
names of the deceased loved ones and friends
you wish to have remembered in prayer by the
community during November.
The book will then be placed at the foot of the altar
as we pray for all the departed souls during the
month of November. You can place the Remem-
brance Envelope in the collection basket or bring
them to the parish office. Remembrance envelopes
are available at the Church entrance.

All Souls Day - November 2nd
Clergy will gather at the Priests Plot at Victoria Lawn
Cemetery on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at
11:00am to remember our deceased priests and to
pray for all the faithful of the diocese who have died.
You are invited to attend also.
There will be two Masses at St. Helens on Novem-
ber 2nd, celebrated for all the faithful departed;
10:00 a.m. as regularly scheduled and an additional
Mass at 6:30 p.m.
The Diocesan Separated & Divorced Healing Min-
istry Support Group meets every second and
fourth Monday of the month (except holidays) from
7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mount Carmel Spiritual
Centre, 7020 Stanley Avenue, Niagara Falls. For
