Simple Random Sampling: Just take a random sample from the population 8)

Systematic Sampling: Random starting point in the population, random sampling interval (how many
ducks before each proverbial goose).

Stratified Sampling: Dividing the population into >=2 subgroups (strata) according to a common
characteristic. Then SRS each subgroup.

Cluster Sampling: Population is divided into clusters, each representative of the population. An SRS
of clusters is selected. One can use all data from each cluster, or refine with more sampling.

Sampling error is the discrepancy between samples taken from the same population. Its one of two
reasons for the difference between the estimate and the true population value. Precision is inversely
proportional to the size of sampling error.

To choose a sample, you need a list of individuals and a source of random numbers. I think you can
see where this is going. Excel for that is =RANDBETWEEN(min, max).
