Thank you very much for purchasing this CD-R KING Wireless-N USB Adapter.

This Quick Installation Guide will help you to install CD-R KING Wireless-N USB

Network Adapter in your computer, including basic hardware and software

installation, as well as configuration of wireless network availability.

A. Software Installation

1. Insert the Resource CD into your CD-ROM drive, and open the folder with the

same name as your product. Then double-click Setup .exe in the


proper folder according to your operating system to start the installation, Figure 1 will

appear.

2. Follow the step-by-step instructions following in the continued prompted screens

to complete InstallShield Wizard steps.

B. Hardware Installation

There are two ways to install the Adapter:

1. Plug the USB Adapter directly to the USB port on your computer.

2. Connect the adapter and your computer through a USB extension cable. The LED

will light up when the Adapter is installed successfully and the PC is on.

Note:

1) If Windows XP warns about Windows Logo testing, click Continue Anyway to

continue the installation.

2) After the Installation, or will appear at the bottom of the screen in

your system tray. Otherwise, there may be some problems about the installation,

please check it carefully.

C. Configure wireless connection in Windows XP with Ralink Wireless Client

Utility.

The Adapter's tray icon shows the signal strength by color and the received

signal strength indication (RSSI). If the icon is (green), a wireless connection

has been established. If the icon is (black), there is no connection. Follow the
steps below to launch a wireless connection manually. Take for CD-R KING wireless

router for example.

1. Double click the icon , then the Wireless Utility will appear. You can also run
the utility by clicking Start Programs Ralink wireless Ralink Wireless

Utility.

You will see the next screen (Figure 2).

2. Click the icon on the screen above, and you will see a new screen (shown in

Figure 3), click the icon , then the latest available network will appear.

If the CD-R KING wireless router is no encryption, double click CD-R KING or click

CD-R KING then click in the Site Survey window, then you can connect to
the CD-R KING network successfully. Like screen below. (Figure 4)

If the CD-R KING Router is encrypted, the adapter will auto select the router that

unencrypted and strongest signals (show in Figure 5)

Please double click CD-R KING, the profile will show as window left, click ,

and then input the encryption key. (Figure 6)

When you connected the CD-R KING router successfully, the icon will show

in the front of CD-R KING SSID like screen below.

Note:

If a well-balanced wireless network cannot be created, please refer to the User Guide

or ask your dealer for help.

D. Configure wireless connection in Windows XP with Windows XP Wireless

Zero Configuration

1. Right-click My Computer Manage, then you will see next window (Figure 8).

2. Click the Services and Applications, and click Services, and then you will see

the Wireless Zero Configuration (Figure 9)

4. Double click Wireless Zero Configuration; you will see the pop-up window

below (Figure 10). Set Startup type to Automatic and click Start, then click OK.

3. Right-click the icon , and then select View Available Wireless Networks

(Figure 11).

4. Then, Figure 12 will appear with many available wireless network choices. You

can choose one and join the network.

Note:

If you have not installed SP2 for Windows XP, the screens below will not be available.

5. When the connection is finished, the icon will display like the next screen shown.

If a well-balanced wireless network cannot be created, please ask your dealer for

help.

E. WPS configuration

WPS function allows the Adapter to join a wireless network quickly. If the wireless

Adapter supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), you can establish a wireless

connection between wireless adapter and router by Push Button Configuration (PBC)

method or PIN method.

Here we will introduce two ways to configure the WPS.

1. PBC (Push Button Configuration) method

1) Press the WPS button on the rear panel of the Router and released immediately

(Figure 14). Then, the router WPS function is started, the SSID will become

SSID_WPS_MAC address last 4 digits, e.g. CD-R KING_WPS_1B38, please

look Figure 15.

Once the Figure 15 is shown, choose the router name, take CD-R KING_WPS_

1B38 for example.

Press the USB adapter WPS button, the adapter will connect to router immediately;

you could find the USB Adapter MAC address in the router connection page

(Figure17).

2. PIN method

1) Double click icon, Figure 15 would shows up, you would see the Pin Code
from the right bar.

1. Log on the router WEB management webpage, and find WPS setup, choose

Advanced option and PIN CODE, input the numbers that you would like to set,

and then click left Add wireless device, then setup is OK.

2) Get pin code from the right column.

3) Input the PIN code to following page.
