In conclusion, both plate models have some solid evidence to support their theories
and can be both taken into consideration when analyzing the evolution of the Caribbean
Plate. The in situ model incorporates regional geology to provide a simplistic answer as to
how the Caribbean Plate was found. The Pacific Model on the other hand is based upon
scientific models rather than actual physical evidence. In order to increase the accuracy of the
Pacific Model, the theories should be able to coincide with outcrops and seismic data to
provide a holistic approach. Thus, geologist should not just simply accept the pacific model
because it is regarded by the Industry as the best model but rather analyse both models and
propose new ideas and theory based upon geological and geophysical data.
