Since the past three months a special sub-
committee was set up by the Shurah to
look into the training of members. Sever-
al plans have been worked out. Details of
the plan and that of its implementation
will be communicated to all members at
the next family camp to be held in De-
cember 2015. The plan aims at develop-
ing committed and competent muslim
daees who will work solely for the pleas-
ure of Allah(swt) and who will be at the
service of humanity,

Basic Islamic Course for new muslims

SIM is presently embarked on a
Basic Course on Islam for some
60 reverts from villages such as
Riche Bois, Camp Diable, Cha-
teau Benares, Rivire des An-
guilles, Souillac, Chemin Grenier,
Coteau Raffin and Case Noyale.
The 13-week course, held every
Saturday at the seat of the Muslim
Circle in Chemin Grenier, is be-
ing organized with the support of
the CDD and the financial assis-
tance of Way to Light. A special
session was held on the 10th Oc-
tober to mark Eid ul Adha at the St
Felix public beach. SIM offered gifts

Numerous SIM and WIM members
attended the session and interacted
with the participants. In addition to

Leadership Training Programme for University students

SIM will hold its next
Leadership Training Por-
gramme for University
students in the third week
of December. A SIM/ CCS
joint committee has been
set up. The first edition
that was held last Decem-
ber was a success and had
the participation of 90 stu-
dents. The target this year
is 125 students. It will be
held on the Campus of the
University of Mauritius.
Students from all other
tertiary institutions will be
invited. The aim is to de-
velop competent and com-
mitted muslim profession-
als. Details will follow.

away of Dr Jamal Barzinji
of the IIIT. Dr Barzinji was
a founder member of the
IIIT and has been very ac-
tive on several fronts in the
US. Former member of
MSA and ISNA , he has
