Architectural students practical training experience through

internship at registered under Council of Architecture (COA).


Architects firms within India and abroad registered under domicile
registration body, for duration of 16 weeks program of study. It is an
exposure to the students to the nature of architects work in terms of
tasks, issues and the overall environment of the profession. Similar to
the actual professional practice, this training requires the students to
fill in their individual weekly log book for their duration of
internship. They are also required to produce a separate report
explaining their working (training) experience for the period.

To expose students to the real aspects of the professional practice


through internship.
To train students to be discipline and responsible to the given tasks
through noting in working diary and filling the log book.
To train students to be more analytical in their observations that
will reflect through the report of their working experience.

This course is based on the practical office works; the experiences


are required to be properly written in a complete report. A fruitful
learning experience attained during the duration of the internship
depends on the initiative of the students good rapport between the
students and the firms of their placement is vital.
The students are required to get internship placement by
themselves and inform the program coordinator immediately once the
internship begins by full-filling and sending the appropriate form This
information is very important for the coordinator to plan for the
visitation by the supervisors
The internship must be in the architects firms those are registered
with COA. The internship is not allowed at registered building
draughtsman or designers, those who do building design but are not
registered with COA.
At all time, the students must adhere to the rules and regulations
set by the department as well as those set by the employers such as
attendance, etiquette, attire etc.
The assessment of this course depends on the complete report
produced by the students as well the one submitted by the employers. If
there is any incomplete work or/and any negative report by the
employers such as poor discipline, unprofessional etc., the relevant
individuals/students will be subjected to disciplinary action of the
college/ university. If the students are found guilty as charged, they will
have to repeat this subject of practical training in full.
The students are also required to keep a log book and a complete
working diary for the duration of the internship. These documents will
be evaluated by the supervisors during the visitation and need to be
submitted to the coordinator at the end of the internship. As a
reminder, the necessary documents to be submitted to the coordinator
