Guidelines Vodafone Voyage

Vodafone announces the launch of Vodafone Voyage 2017 from 26th July, 2017 - a B school business challenge to give
students an opportunity to come up with innovative, path-breaking ideas and be a part of the next revolution in the field of
Technology and IOT (Internet of Things)

Imagine yourself in a world where everything around you is connected. Your alarm clock automatically rings 10 minutes early
when the train/metro is delayed ensuring you are not late to work or your family doctor receives an update about your health
whenever you check your weight on your home weighing machine

Today technology has not only connected people but devices as well. With Internet of Things (IOT), the world is fast moving
into a connected world and Vodafone is driving this revolution.

TEAM REGISTRATION
Business propositions will be launched on 26th July, 2017. Students can log in to www.vodafone.in/Vodafone-voyage ,
and download the Business propositions.
The registration and submission window will open in the First week of August, the details of which will be updated on
the Vodafone careers page on Facebook www.facebook.com/CareersatVodafone/ and www.vodafone.in/Vodafone-
voyage
Each team can submit their entries during the submission window by logging in to www.vodafone.in/Vodafone-
voyage

COMPETITION DETAILS
The competition consists of 2 rounds:

Round 1: Prepare your Elevator Pitch


Each team will have to choose 1 Business proposition from the IOT propositions shared on the web site
The team has to come up with a 1 page Elevator pitch on the chosen proposition. In the Elevator pitch, the team has
to propose its innovative idea/solution regarding that proposition
The ideas shared should not be same as the Vodafone solutions but out of the box, innovative ideas
The entries have to be submitted in the Elevator pitch format shared

Elevator Pitch Guidelines:


Submit in an Adobe Acrobat PDF format only
Single Line Spacing, Arial 12 pt font, Page Margins 1 all around
Your submission must not exceed one page including illustrations. Any page beyond this will not be considered in the
review process
Ensure your submission is precise and visually impressive
Provide reference points and assumptions, if any
Use naming convention as Campus_Team name_leader name

Evaluation Criteria

Relevance Is the proposed idea relevant to Vodafones business ?


Concise and Clear Is the proposed idea ,Concise and easy to understand ?
Innovative How is the idea proposed breakthrough, orginal and first of its kind ?
Feasibility in Implementation Is the Idea practical to implement wrt Technology and financial viability ?
Marketable How will this idea be commercialised and what pain points will it address ? How will it get monetised ?

Round 2 : Pitch your Idea !

Basis Evaluation criteria of round 1 - top 3 teams will be selected per campus per year ( a maximum of 3 teams per
campus ) where Vodafone is visiting for summers and finals hiring
The shortlisted teams will need to make a presentation to substantiate their proposed idea with appropriate primary
and secondary research , GTM startegy and the implementation
Each presenting team will have a 20 minute slot to explain their idea through a 5 slide ppt ( 10 minute presentation +
10 minute Q&A )
Please note students from campuses where Vodafone is not visiting for summers/final will be invited to make the final
presentation via VC or visit to Vodafone HQs in Mumbai. Travel and stay cost will have to be borne by respective
participants.

Participation GUIDELINES
This competition is open to only full time Two year MBA students of selected B schools
Team size is two members - Both members should be of different genders
Both 1st year and 2nd year students can participate
The participants in each team must be from the same batch of the course and specialization as Sales and Marketing.
Students from different batches/years cannot be present in the same team
Students with specialization as General Management can also apply but if selected then the PPI given will be for a
Sales & Marketing role
Students from other streams such as the Executive MBA Program, Part Time Program, Management Development
Program, FPM Program etc. are not eligible to participate
Students going on exchange program are not eligible to participate
Students have to register using their official college email ids ONLY
There is no restriction on the number of teams from a B-school in first round
A student cannot be part of more than 1 team

WINNERS

The winners of the Campus presentation round will receive :

Summer Pre placement interviews ( PPI ) in case of First year students


Pre Placement Interviews ( PPI ) in case of Second year students
Vodafone Goodies
Selected teams may also get an opportunity to implement the proposed idea with the teams at Vodafone
TEAM RESPONSIBILITY

Teams are requested to adhere to the guidelines mentioned here . Any violation will lead to disqualification from the
competition. Decision of Vodafone team will be binding in case of an issue/tie/discrepency
