ICTIOLOGIA

OBJETIVO GENERAL: Presentar la gran diversidad de las especies de peces y poder

relacionar los patrones morfolgicos y conductuales con sus hbitos de vida y hbitat.
Identificar ejemplares de peces empleando guas y claves dicotmicas.

TEMAS:
1. Clasificacin de los peces. Aspectos bsicos de su anatoma. Diversidad
morfolgica y conductual.
2. Caractersticas generales del Gran Caribe. Principales hbitats y su ictiofauna.
3. Taxonoma de las Clases Chondrichthyes: tiburones, rayas, torpedos y
quimeras y Actinopterygii: rdenes y familias presentes en el Gran Caribe.
Especies ms representativas.

CLASES PRCTICAS:
1. Observacin de la morfologa externa de las Clases Chondrichthyes y
Actinopterygii. Diseccin y observacin de la morfologa interna en ambas
Clases. Informe final.
2. Determinacin macroscpica y microscpica de los estadios de maduracin
de ovarios y testes en especies con diferentes tipos de desarrollo gonadal.
Clculo del ndice gonadosomtico en los diferentes estadios. Anlisis de los
resultados obtenidos. Informe final
3. Identificacin de especies empleando guas y claves dicotmicas. Informe
final

SEMINARIOS
Migraciones. Mecanismos de alimentacin. Los peces como organismos
depredadores. La viviparidad en peces seos. La respiracin area en los peces. El
sistema de lnea lateral, su importancia y funcin.
