Installation instructions for the security patch for Toshiba Bluetooth Stack

[Precaution]
Before updating the driver, you should
- Logon (or Sign in) as the Administrator account.
- Connect AC Adaptor and fully charged battery.
- Terminate all application software except for the security patch for Toshiba Bluetooth
Stack.
- Terminate virus protection programs.(And, restart them after finishing installing the
security patch.)

[Summary of installation procedure]

1. Confirm the version of Toshiba Bluetooth stack software
2. Download and extract the security patch for Toshiba Bluetooth stack.
3. Install the security patch for Toshiba Bluetooth stack

The detail procedure is described for each OS in the following.

A. Windows 8

[Procedure]
A-1. Confirm the version of Toshiba Bluetooth stack software
(1) Charm on the desktop screen, and select Settings and Control Panel.
(2) In Control Panel, select Uninstall a Program.
(3) Select Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba, and check "Product version" in the
below area.
If "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba" does not exist, it is not necessary to
install the security patch.
If "Product version" includes "SP2", for example 9.10.04(P) SP2, the security
patch has already been installed.
If "Product version" does not include "SP2", the security patch has not been
installed yet. Please execute the following steps.

A-2. Download and extract the security patch for Toshiba Bluetooth stack.
(1) Download the program named "toshiba_bluetooth_sp.exe", and execute it.
(2) Select [Yes] if "User Account Control" window is displayed.
(3) Read the "License Agreement", and select [Yes(Y)].
(4) Confirm the destination folder (default folder is "c:\util2\drivers\bluet_sp"), and
select [OK].
(5) Wait to complete the file extraction for several seconds. The folder in which
downloaded file is extracted will be automatically opened.

A-3. Install the security patch for Toshiba Bluetooth stack

(1) Open the folder in which downloaded file was extracted. (Default folder is
"c:\util2\drivers\bluet_sp")
(2) Execute [TosBtSp2Setup(.exe)].
(3) Select [Yes(Y)] if "User Account Control" window is displayed.
(4) Select [Next>] in the dialog in which "Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for
Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba Security Patch 2" is shown.
(5) Select [Install] in the Ready to Install the Program dialog.
(6) When InstallShield Wizard Complete dialog is displayed, the installation is
completed. Then, select [Finish] to complete the installation wizard.
(7) Boot the computer.
(8) Confirm the version of Toshiba Bluetooth Stack with the same procedure as step A-1.

B. Windows 7

[Procedure]
B-1. Confirm the version of Toshiba Bluetooth stack software
(1) Select Start menu, and select Control Panel.
(2) In Control Panel, select Uninstall a Program.
(3) Select Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba, and check "Product version" in the
below area.
If "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba" does not exist, it is not necessary to
install the security patch.
If "Product version" includes "SP2", for example 7.00.08(P) SP2, the security
patch has already been installed.
If "Product version" does not include "SP2", the security patch has not been
installed yet. Please execute the following steps.

B-2. Download and extract the security patch for Toshiba Bluetooth stack.
(1) Download the program named "toshiba_bluetooth_sp.exe", and execute it.
(2) Select [Yes] if "User Account Control" window is displayed.
(3) Read the "License Agreement", and select [Yes(Y)].
(4) Confirm the destination folder (default folder is "c:\util2\drivers\bluet_sp"), and
select [OK].
(5) Wait to complete the file extraction for several seconds. The folder in which
downloaded file is extracted will be automatically opened.

B-3. Install the security patch for Toshiba Bluetooth stack

(1) Open the folder in which downloaded file was extracted. (Default folder is
"c:\util2\drivers\bluet_sp")
(2) Execute [TosBtSp2Setup(.exe)].
(3) Select [Yes(Y)] if "User Account Control" window is displayed.
(4) Select [Next>] in the dialog in which "Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for
Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba Security Patch 2" is shown.
(5) Select [Install] in the Ready to Install the Program dialog.
(6) When InstallShield Wizard Complete dialog is displayed, the installation is
completed. Then, select [Finish] to complete the installation wizard.
(7) Boot the computer.
(8) Confirm the version of Toshiba Bluetooth Stack with the same procedure as step B-1.

C. Windows Vista

[Procedure]
C-1. Confirm the version of Toshiba Bluetooth stack software
(1) Select Start menu, and select Control Panel.
(2) In Control Panel, select Uninstall a Program.
(3) Select Organize, and select Layout and Details Pane in the menu.
(4) Select Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba, and check "Product version" in the
details pane.
If "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba" does not exist, it is not necessary to
install the security patch.
If Product version is "v3.xx.xx(PA)", "v4.xx.xx(PA)", or "v4.xx.xx(PT)", it is not
necessary to install the security patch.
If "Product version" includes "SP2", for example 6.00.11 SP2, the security patch
has already been installed.
If "Product version" does not include "SP2", the security patch has not been
installed yet. Please execute the following steps.

C-2. Download and extract the security patch for Toshiba Bluetooth stack.
(1) Download the program named "toshiba_bluetooth_sp.exe", and execute it.
(2) Select [Yes] if "User Account Control" window is displayed.
(If the recent Windows Update has not applied, An unidentified program wants to your
computer warning might be displayed in User Account Control dialog. Then, select
[Allow] instead.)
(3) Read the "License Agreement", and select [Yes(Y)].
(4) Confirm the destination folder (default folder is "c:\util2\drivers\bluet_sp"), and
select [OK].
(5) Wait to complete the file extraction for several seconds. The folder in which
downloaded file is extracted will be automatically opened.

C-3. Install the security patch for Toshiba Bluetooth stack

(1) Open the folder in which downloaded file was extracted. (Default folder is
"c:\util2\drivers\bluet_sp")
(2) Execute [TosBtSp2Setup(.exe)].
(3) Select [Yes(Y)] if "User Account Control" window is displayed.
(If the recent Windows Update has not applied, An unidentified program wants to your
computer warning might be displayed in User Account Control dialog. Then, select
[Allow] instead.)
(4) Select [Next>] in the dialog in which "Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for

(6) When InstallShield Wizard Complete dialog is displayed, the installation is
completed. Then, select [Finish] to complete the installation wizard.
(7) Boot the computer.
(8) Confirm the version of Toshiba Bluetooth Stack with the same procedure as step C-1.

D. Windows XP

[Procedure]
D-1. Confirm the version of Toshiba Bluetooth stack software
(1) Select Start menu, and select Control Panel.
(2) In Control Panel, select Add or Remove Programs.
(3) Select Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba, and select Click here for support
information link.
If "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba" does not exist, it is not necessary to
install the security patch.
(4) Check "Version" in the support information dialog.
If Version is "v3.xx.xx(PA)", "v4.xx.xx(PA)", or "v4.xx.xx(PT)", it is not necessary to
install the security patch.
If "Version" includes "SP2", for example 7.10.20(P) SP2, the security patch has
already been installed.
If "Version" does not include "SP2", the security patch has not been installed yet.
Please execute the following steps.

D-2. Download and extract the security patch for Toshiba Bluetooth stack.
(1) Download the program named "toshiba_bluetooth_sp.exe", and execute it.
(2) Read the "License Agreement", and select [Yes(Y)].
(3) Confirm the destination folder (default folder is "c:\util2\drivers\bluet_sp"), and
select [OK].
(4) Wait to complete the file extraction for several seconds. The folder in which
downloaded file is extracted will be automatically opened.

D-3. Install the security patch for Toshiba Bluetooth stack

(1) Open the folder in which downloaded file was extracted. (Default folder is
"c:\util2\drivers\bluet_sp")
(2) Execute [TosBtSp2Setup(.exe)].
(3) Select [Next>] in the dialog in which "Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for
Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba Security Patch 2" is shown.
(4) Select [Install] in the Ready to Install the Program dialog.
(5) When InstallShield Wizard Complete dialog is displayed, the installation is
completed. Then, select [Finish] to complete the installation wizard.
(6) Boot the computer.
(7) Confirm the version of Toshiba Bluetooth Stack with the same procedure as step D-1.
