PROJECT PROPOSAL
S.Y. 2017-2018

I. TITLE: School Based Youth for Environment School Organization ( YES-O) Camp

ll. DATE: August 31 and September 1, 2017

lll. VENUE: Munguia National High School covered Court

lV. SOURCE OF FUND:

Each participant will be charged a registration fee of one hundred ninety pesos
(Php.190.00) to cover miscellaneous expenses, three meals and snacks in the proposed
activity.

V. TARGET PARTICIPANTS:

The activity is intended to one hundred interested grade 7 to Grade 10 students.

VI. RATIONALE:

Pursuant to the Dep.Ed Order No. 93, s. 2011 entitled Thrusts and activities of the YES-
O and DepEd Order No. 33, s. 2008 ( Responding to the threats of Climate Change and Global
Warming Through Massive, Intensive and sustained Tree- planting, Tree Growing and Tree
Caring Programs) and the Upland Development Program of the Department of Environment
and Natural Resources (DENR), the Munguia National High School Youth for Environment
School Organization( YES-O) will conduct the school based YES-O Camp.

This years edition of the YES camp works under the theme coded as
Emphasizes the significance of Climate change mitigation and adaption efforts and focuses on
how each individual, school and community nationwide can contribute in reducing the carbon
footprint. It promotes a lifetime commitment to inculcate to students their role in the adaptation,
protection, preservation and rehabilitation of our environment for the next generations. The
active involvement of students in Environmental campaigns and programs will instill in them
the values of loving and taking care of our planet.
Vll. OBJECTIVES:

A. General
To instill environmental values in every student and to be involved
in MNHS programs and projects for the environment.

B. Specific:
1. To learn about Climate Change mitigation and adaptation in local
and international best practices.
2. To inculcate among student critical role of practices in preventing and
coping with the effects of natural disasters such as typhoons, floods,
earthquakes and droughts.
3. To ensure students active participation in the preservation and rehabilitation
of the environment and the conservation of natural resources in their
respective areas.
4. To strengthen the implementation of DepEd Order No. 72, s. 2003 in the
Establishment of the Youth for Environment in Schools
Organizations(YES-O) and Dep.Ed Order No. 93, s. 2011 or the
Thrust and Activities of the Youth for Environment in Schools
Organization (YES-O).

Vlll. METHODOLOGY

Since the environment is everyone s concern, the participant to this camp on


the officers and members of the YES-O, Supreme Student Government (SSG), Student
Technologist and Entrepreneurs of the Philippines ( STEP), Science and Environments Clubs,
Boy Scout and Girl Scout of the Philippines and Campus Paper Editorial Staff.
Activities during the YES Camp include interactive and fun symposium on Fire
Prevention, outdoor activities and contests, such as Sayawit ( Sayaw at Awit on Kalikasan),
quiz bee, search for lakan at lakambini ng kalikasan, on the spot poster making and in campus
tree planting. Certificates and prizes will be given to the winners in all the contests.

X. Output Indicators:

The attendance and registration of participants, facilitators will be the


indicators that the activity was successful.

Xl. Project Sustainable: As part of the curriculum, Science teachers are to encourage to
supplement and enhance student learning not only inside the classroom but through outdoor
activities through camaraderie from students and teachers is strengthened it will further
expand students awareness on environmental issues and concerns.

This is to conduct a School-base YES-O Camp, where some if not all of the activities of the Division YES-
O will also be applied here in our school. This is one way to encourage environmental awareness and
concern among our students and to let them experience what the four corners of the classroom

VII. RATIONALE:
YES O Camp is every years culmination of the activities of all subject areas. It is a venue
for the school and the students to develop maturity towards deeper awareness and concern on the
state of the environment today. In this activity, students are encouraged to join different contested
activities which will promote camaraderie, higher thinking skills which widen their horizon and
develop their talents and environmental values which will help in concretizing the action in
protecting, and rehabilitating the environment.
The yearly conduct of this activity pose a great challenge to the proponents to conduct in
her own school due to its great preparations yet this will not only prepare the students
participants in the division level but also to give chance to students who could not afford/avail to
join the division YES O Camp.
VIII. YES-O Camp OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the activity, participants are expected to:
A. Inculcate among students and teachers the importance and relevance of reducing the
carbon footprints as a double and a practical way to mitigate and adapt to the
changing world.
B. Develop pupils and students deeper awareness on the state of the environment,
focusing on significant issues and concerns on Climate Change and Global Warming.
C. Encourage students active participation and determine concrete action in the
protection, preservation and rehabilitation of the environment.
D. Prepare YES-O participants for the coming Division YES O Camp
E. Raise fund for the operation of the club to support its upcoming projects and
sustainability.
