Earn a career as Marine Officer (Marine Engineering & Electro

Technical Officer)

The Marine Engineering and Electro Technical Officer (ETO) Post Graduate Diploma Programs
- Bahir Dar University Maritime Academy in collaboration with Ethiopian Maritime Training Institute
(EMTI) is currently conducting a program to train Mechanical Engineering Graduates to become
Marine Engineering Cadets and Electrical Engineering Graduates to become Electro-Technical
Officers. The next Marine Officers program will start on 1st of October 2013, GC. For those who are
interested to join the program, you are welcome to apply if you meet the following requirements listed
below. Registration will be from 15 of May to 15 of June, 2013.

1. Requirements
a. Applicants must possess a BSC degree in either Mechanical Engineering or Electrical
engineering from a known and recognized University in Ethiopia.
b. Electrical Engineering from: Power & Control Electronics & Communication and
General Electricity Engineering.
c. Sex: Male
d. Age: Not more than 27 years of age on the date of application.
e. Applicants: must be free and clear from any training related commitment with any
government organization including Ethiopian Airlines, Universities and /or Defense related
industries and colleges and cleared from former Employee.
f. Must agree to take medical examination as per the international Maritime Organization
(IMO) medical standard.
g. Should bring with them the following documents for registration:
a. Original BSC degree.
b. 8th grade National Exam Certificate
c. Valid Kebele Identification and real birth date.
h. Selected applicants may be required to produce release letters from their respective
organizations if they are employed elsewhere.
i. Applicants Must be without any criminal record or back ground.
j. A person who can bring sufficient guarantor.

o Maritime Academy Office at Bahir Dar University: Peda Campus, building
#B155, Office of Maritime Academy Commandant.
o EMTI office in Addis Ababa: Tracon Tower, 9th floor, Churchill Road, In front
of Black Lion Secondary School.
o ALL data should be in GC dates and in English.

universities to give a presentation and answer questions.

Mekele university on May 24th afternoon
Addis university on May 25th Afternoon
Adama university on May 26th afternoon
Jima university on May 27 evening or 28th morning
Bahar Dar university on June 3rd afternoon
