VIPER - Read Me Document

It is important that the correct version of VIPER software is used to configure the Vega control panel.

The table below outlines the Main Control Processor (MCP), Master & Slave Basic Loop Controller (MBLC & SBLC)
and Repeater Vega panel software part numbers together with the appropriate VIPER software.

Key to Kidde part number system:

Example: Vega MCP software, part number P28180-104 breaks down as follows: -
q P28 = Vega range of software.
q 181 = Main operating feature such as VegaNET graphics support.
q 1XX = Version control.
q X06 = Revision status.
e.g version 307 VIPER should be used with version P28181-107 MCP software.

How to determine which software is installed within your control panel

MCP Enter the access level 2 code and select 'Panel Test'
The software part number will be displayed on the LCD
Alternatively,
Software Eprom is located on board number 44782-K071 at IC 9

MBLC Software Eprom is located on board number 44782-K073 at IC 16

SBLC Software Eprom is located on board number 44782-K084 at IC 10

Repeater Software Eprom is located on board number 44782-K077 at IC 1

Thermal Printer option is available from software version P28100-301 onwards.

MBLC Inputs 7 & 8 is available from software version P28180-105 onwards

To convert version 107 VIPER files to current release, a conversion programme is available.
Upgrading version P28100-101 may need hardware upgrade also.
