METHODOLOGY
FORMWORK
Beam
15mm thick plywood shall be the formwork of the beam. The bottom of the beam should be
fixed on 50 x50 mm timber. The 50 x50mm timber to be placed in position and supported
with accrow jacks in 600mm intervals. The 50 x50mm timber frame horizontally fixed in side
boards and the 50 mm GI pipes are horizontally fixed to both sides and 50 x50mm timber
fixed vertically. Thread bars and Form ties should be used to tighten the vertical sides of the
Beam formwork.

Slab
Slab formwork shall be 15mm thick plywood. The slab formwork shall be placed on top of a
50x50mm timber frame. The GI pipes should be placed 600mm intervals on the 50x100mm
timber at the same interval and supported with accrow jacks.
The levels of the slab and the beams shall be checked after the completion the reinforcement
work.

REINFORCEMENT
Reinforcement shall be laid according to the Structural Drawing and up to the satisfaction of
the Engineer. The reinforcement shifting and binding shall be started as soon as shuttering is
completed. Reinforcement binding shall continue as formwork and shuttering work is
progresses.

The conduits shall be laid on top of the bottom net as per the Electrical Drawings.
After completing formwork and reinforcement necessary approval would be asked for the
concreting.

CONCRETING
7 days early strength Grade 25 Ready mix concrete with 150mm slump shall be placed into
beam and slab. The poker vibrator shall be inserted to give sound compaction. Top of the
concrete level shall be maintained properly while concreting.

REMOVAL OF FORMWORK
The formwork shall be removed as not to cause any damage to concrete due to shock or
vibration at the end of 7th day.

CURING
After 24 hours of laying concrete, the surface shall be cured by flooding with water. The
curing shall be done for a minimum period of 7 days.

INSITU TESTS & LABORATORY TESTS

Concrete that arrive at site will be checked for slump.

Samples will be taken for compressive strength test as per the QA requirements for
normal production quality control and stressing.
