Based on the researcher, a web-based enrollment system for Veritas Parochial

School (VPS) in Web Based enrollment system, Manila was developed to help its

students enroll in a more efficient way without the hassles of waiting long hours in filling

out forms, which sometimes become redundant, or to stand in line and pay at the

cashier. It is with the Web-based Enrollment System for VPS that this new style of

enrollment may be achieved. This new type of system offers its students new options for

enrolling at VPS. By logging on to VPS website, one can register and enroll subjects for

a school year. With these, all the students are required to fill out certain forms that do

not take more than a few minutes to accomplish. The system stores its records in the

school database for future references. Confirmation of the transaction made by the

students need to be verified, the payment of tuition fees must be made in the schools

registrar. The students may also browse the web site of VPS and he can check his

current account. He can also refer to the list of the school current tuition fee rates

(Pascual & Riceo, 2008) According to Lopez (2005), a registration system helps and

provides efficient and reliable services to the students, enrollment personnel and

administration. Moreover, this system improved the process of enrollment in terms of

8
searching, retrieving and subject schedules. While in a study conducted by Cayabyab

(2007), many problems and difficulties were identified in the existing system of Dagupan

City National High School (DCNHS). These major concerns are affecting the efficient

enrollment system of students. Security of the students records were found to be at high

risk. The current system may fail to protect some important documents. It has also

untimely and inefficient report generation. A computerized system for DCNHS shall

result to a significant increase in the number of enrollees Network-Based Enrollment

system Conde (2007) in his study entitled Network-bases Enrollment System of Paete

National High School cited that the manual process of enrollment and manual handling

of information and reports of the students is very laborious one. The proponents

developed a network based system enrollment system to the said school to solve the

huge amount of task. Garcia (2002) created the LSPC Enrollment System, the study

can be a great help to persons concerned during the enrollment period, the registrar,

instructor of the students as they retrieval necessary information when needed and

lessen the burden manually browsing over enrollment slip for record purposes Saayo

et.al (2008) developed the system Network based automated Enrollment and grading

system for Morong National High School. Due to increasing population of the institution,

and the school currently implementing the manual system, every student spends a lot of

time during enrollment period, such as paying their tuition fees and processing the

school requirements. Valina et.al (2009), in this work entitled Network-based student

Permanent Record keeping and Enrollment System of Balian National High School.

This System was made to lessen the time and effort exerted by both student and school

employees. It is also made to give accurate reports and keep records of every students

9
and for easy and fast way of enrollment. Soria (2006), constructed a system entitled

Network-based Computerized inventory System for the supply office o the LSPC main

campus. With the advancement of technology, devices and machines were improve ,

developed and inverted to cope up with the need of new world. There are different

systems designed for reliable, efficient and very useful to the user. Cabang et al. (2003)

developed the computerized Students Record Monitoring System of Siniloan National

High School, Computerized Student data will be exceedingly helped to the user

through continuous management of the School. It could help the registrar for a less

effort services in the institutions especially in updating, printing and deleting students

record. Velasco (2002) Study entitled Maulawin National High School Student

Information System cited that maintaining students, records manually is a very difficult

task and time consuming. In that case, computerization system that can help and

handle 17 this data needed to speed up the process of students record keeping and to

promote and reliability. (thesisbook.readthedocs.io/en/latest/Chapter%20II.html#local-

Web-Based Geographical Project Monitoring and Information System for

the road and highways

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Cagayan de Oro

District 1 and 2 is one of the regional offices of the DPWH responsible for

implementing transparency of its projects information by releasing it publicly for

the public to access it. However, most of the accomplished and on-going road

12
projects information is not highly available and not easy to navigate in the current

website.

The purpose of this study is to design and develop a program application

that could provide information about the road projects in a more detailed and

informative way and can be easily accessed by the

public.(http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2314717216300927)

Web-Based Geographical Project Monitoring and Information System for

the road and highways
Website Architecture and Design

The first step during the creation of the website is performing a

research. Getting an understanding of the clients needs and others

through thorough examination and brainstorming to learn more about the

subject that is to be exposed on the site is the first thing to do. There is a

need to a keen gathering of information as much as possible to help

develop an outline for the site and also for its design when meeting with

the client. This includes asking about the target audience, goals, creative

direction and other variables that may affect what they can offer to the

client. Performing some industry or market research is most likely done

before and after gathering information from the client. This is as simple as

looking to see what other websites in the field look like to in-depth

research with focus groups.

13
Developing the web-based graphical user interface

The primary decision is what should be the underlying structure of

the site, which determines the software to be used and what system will

make the site work. The following are the software used:

1. HTML5. This script language is used because of its cross-browser

support. The language also has the ability to deliver everything from

animation to graphics. As more and more elements got adopted more

and more companies started to develop using HTML5.

2. CSS3. This style sheet language is used for the sites design. It also

offers browser compatibility that makes the designing faster and

easier.

3. jQuery. This cross-platform JavaScript library is utilized because it

makes things like HTML document traversal and manipulation, event

handling and animation much simpler with an easy-to-use API that

works across a multitude of browsers. It is versatile and extensible.

4. JavaScript (JS). It is used for map manipulation. It is mainly used for

creating polylines, markers and other overlays to fully utilize the map.

Features

Administrator Login shows the login page of the administrator. The 1st

and 2nd District of DPWH Cagayan de Oro City have different administrator and

they can only add and update projects according to which district they log in.

14
Administrator Profile Once the admin is logged in the system, he can

now add and update projects and contractors. He can also update and view the

map.

Adding New Road Project shows the adding section of the project which

is done by the administrator. After adding all the project information, it will then

be registered in the database and the data will then be retrieved for the viewer to

see the newly added project. When the admin updates, the same process

occurs.

List of Completed Projects shows the said results. Base on the results it

is clearer if the data are categorized according to what project category it

belongs. Once the view option is clicked, as mention in the previous figure, a new

page will load.

The implementation of web-based project management systems by the general

contractor: transferring from hard-copy to digital format.
Introduction of this study
Construction projects by their nature are complex, typically one-of-a-kind

structures built on varied substrates. The multifaceted responsibilities of the

owner, designer, engineer, contractor and subcontractor rely on the accuracy

and timeliness of information provided. This information can be relayed down to

the field from the design team, or up to the design team from field operations.

The use of web-based information management systems has a definite use in

such a complex setting. The use of computers can accelerate the transmission of

information, provide ease of formatting routine documents, and maintain accurate

15
logs of document transfer. Many of the advantages extend down to the field

operation level, but places extreme amounts of adaptation concerning document

management at the general contractor level.

Web-based Project Management Systems (WPMS) present administrative

and document management challenges which the general contractor must

overcome in order for a construction project to be a success. A course needs to

be developed for the general contractor, targeting the roles of both the

administrative department and project managers in successfully integrating

electronic document management techniques and procedures. In addition to

employee training, an SOP will be authored and implemented by the general

contractor, ensuring all members of the administrative staff and project managers

are performing the same functions in similar manners.

Purpose of the Study

The objectives of this directed project proposal are to assess the current

document management system of the authors company, evaluate the

shortcomings related to a WPMS and identify training needs of project managers

and administrative personnel. This directed project will examine the flow of

construction documents and establish new protocols if necessary leading to the

final SOP to be implemented by the general contractor. The outcome of this

directed project will be the creation of training for the administrative and project

management personnel and an SOP to be followed. The training will provide

instruction to project managers and administrative staff on electronic document

16
markup and transferring hard copy documents to electronic formats for mark up

and submission to the design team.

The literature review for this project needs to cover four areas:

1. Web Based Project Management Software Platforms.

2. Shop drawings or submittals.

3. The integration of new technology in the construction industry.

4. Instructional course development for professional adults.

Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation System

In line with the governments policies on decentralization and

administrative delegation. Regional Development Councils (RDCs) were

reorganized and strengthened through Executive Order (EO) No. 308, which

among others, tasked the RDCs with the coordination of project implementation,

monitoring and evaluation. Moreover, Memorandum Order (MO) No. 175 was

issued on 225 May 1988 which created Project Monitoring Committees at the

provincial/city and municipal levels to monitor local government projects funded

from national government and local government funds.

In support of these policies and to facilitate project implementation,

monitoring and evaluation at the regional and sub-regional levels, a Regional

Project Monitoring and Evaluation System (RPMES) was established through EO

376 dated 2 November 1989. The system provides a scheme for monitoring and

evaluating projects at the national, regional, provincial/city and municipal levels,

17
with the extensive and active participation of various government agencies, local

government units and nongovernment organizations (NGOs) at all levels.

The RPMES primarily aims to facilitate project implementation, and

devolve project facilitation, problem-solving, monitoring and evaluation to the

regional, provincial/city and municipal levels. Specifically, the system aims to

achieve the following objectives.

The monitoring and evaluation process starts with the planning,

programming and scheduling of monitoring activities to be undertaken by the

respective PMCs for the year. The following documents will be prepared.

Synthesis

The related literature shows that even a simple task of monitoring projects is now

handled by the help of technology, it is observable that nowadays companies are

affected by the technology. The use of technology may result in increased productivity

of the company as it will allow the people working there to do their jobs easily.

Technology is ever evolving, not just in the field of health and sciences but also

in other things such as handling and monitoring the companys transactions, in

conclusion, technology nowadays really helps a lot, it helped develop more

advanced economies and has allowed the rise of a leisure class. It helped develop

advanced medicine, as the usability of technology skyrocketed, the future of humanity is

secured and made easy.
