Create a 18-Week Study Plan for MCSA Server 2012 70-410

March 7, 2017 | Everything CBTN Training Tips - By Raju Woodward

Nevermind the fact that Microsoft Windows Server 2012 is five years old, its not in danger of going
way of the dodo bird anytime soon. In fact, Spiceworks reported last year that about a quarter of
servers are still using Server 2012, and with Microsoft not planning to end mainstream support for
the OS in 2018 (and continuing extended support until 2023), its safe to say that Server 2012 is
sticking around for awhile.
What does that mean for you? Well, if youve been thinking about pursuing MCSA Windows Server
2012, you still have plenty of time. However, keep in mind that you do have to pass three exams to
earn the certification. So we put together a comprehensive study plan for the first of these three
exams: the 70-410. By the end, youll be on your way to Windows Server 2012 success!

Week 1

Before you jump into watching videos, do your homework so youll have a better understanding of
the 70-410 exam. Visit the Microsoft Learning Centers MCSA Windows Server 2012 section to
learn about the exam, exam requirements, and study resources. If you are feeling especially
brave, you could try a practice exam to get a feel for the exam and test your baseline knowledge.
Dont get discouraged by your score, though. Remember, youre just starting your MCSA Windows
Server 2012 journey.

During Week 1 we recommend watching the first seven videos of Garth Schultes Microsoft
Windows Server 2012 70-410 with R2 Updates course. Youll be learning how to plan for a server
installation, how to install a server, and server roles.

Its a good idea to supplement your training with textbooks. We recommend any of these three:
MCSA 70-410 Cert Guide R2: Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012
Exam Ref 70-410 Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012 R2 (MCSA)
MCSA Windows Server 2012 R2 Complete Study Guide: Exams 70-410, 70-411, 70-412

And just like that, youre off and running!

Because theres a lot to cover in regard to the 70-410 exam, we will stick to the nitty gritty for the
