Minutes of the Board of Studies for the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of
Management Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences held on October 5, 2017

The following members attended the meeting:

The meeting started at 13:00 p.m, on Thursday, October 05, 2017 at the FMSH&SS with the
recitation of the Holy Quran.

1. Mr. Aftab Tabassam, Coordinator Department of Business Administration expounded

the board about the programmes being offered at the department, the number of graduates
passed out from this department and about their employment status. The significance of
MBA 3.5 years, MBA 1.5 years and BBA (Honors) programmes in the market was also
 described. The chairman/Convener thanked all the participants and requested the
secretary for further proceedings.

2. Mr. Zafar Azam member/ secretary of the board further proceeded the meeting and the
board started discussion on the formal agenda.

3. Agenda item no. 1 page no. 1 titled Proposal for approval of offering MBA 1.5 years
for students with business background has been approved and recommended to the
academic council, University of the Poonch Rawalakot AJ&K for further action.
4. The following changes in the agenda item no. 2 page no 3 titled Proposal for Approval
of course structure of MBA 3.5 years. has been approved and recommended to the
academic council, University of the Poonch Rawalakot AJ&K for further action.
Course titled Introduction to Computer with course code (MB-313) offered in 1st
Semester has been replaced with course titled Application of Computer Software in
Business Management with same course code i.e (MB-313).
The course titled Financial Management with course code (MB-321) offered in 2nd
Semester has been interchanged with course titled Cost Accounting course code
(MB-434) offered in 3rd Semester without changing in course codes.
The course titled Behavioral Sciences for Management with course code (MB-323)
offered in 2nd Semester has been replaced with course titled Small-Medium
Enterprises with same course code.
The course titled Statistical Inferences with course code (MB-431) offered in 3rd
Semester has been replaced with course titled Entrepreneurship with same course
code.
The course titled Statistical Inferences with course code (MB-431) offered in 3rd
Semester has been approved to be offered in 4th Semester with Course Code (MB-
443) and with course title Inferential statistics.
The course titled Research Methods & Techniques with course code (MB-432)
offered in 3rd Semester has been replaced with course titled Business Research
Methods with same course code.
 The course titled Corporate Social Responsibility has been approved to be offered
in 5th Semester with course code (MB-551).
The course titled Management Information System with course code (MB-552)
offered in 5th semester has been replaced with course titled Advanced Research
Methodology with same course code.
The course titled E.commerce with course code (MB-561) offered in 6th Semester
has been replaced with course titled Business Econometrics for Research with same
course code.

5. Agenda Item No. 3. Page no. 6 titled Proposal for approval of replacement of
Business Law (MB-686) offered in 7th semester with Business Econometrics for
Research has not been approved and recommended to the academic council, University
of the Poonch Rawalakot AJ&K for further action.
6. Agenda Item No. 4 page no. 6 titled Proposal for approval of replacement of
Principles of Auditing (MB-558) offered as an elective course of Finance with
Financial Risk Management has been approved to be replaced with same course code
and recommended to the academic council, University of the Poonch Rawalakot AJ&K
for further action.
7. Agenda Item No. 5 page no. 6 titled Proposal for approval of replacement of
Taxation Management (MB-556) offered as an elective course of Finance with
course titled Behavioral Finance has not been approved to be replaced.
8. Agenda Item No. 6 page no. 6 titled Proposal for approval of replacement of course
Financial Institutions with course code (MB-578) offered as an elective course of
Finance with Financial Markets & Institutions has been approved to be replaced
with same course code and recommended to the academic council, University of the
Poonch Rawalakot AJ&K for further action..
9. Agenda Item No. 7 page no. 7 titled Proposal for approval of Research thesis in
MBA 3.5 year program has been approved and recommended to the academic council,
University of the Poonch Rawalakot AJ&K for further action with following changes.
Students would have a choice to take whether Research Thesis of 6 credit hours
with course code (MB-688) OR
 Research project of 3 credit hours with course code (MB-687) and one course of 3
credit hours from the area of specialization OR
Two course of 3 credit hours each from the area of respective specialization.

10. Agenda Item No. 8 page no. 7 titled Proposal for approval of course structure BBA
Four Year has been approved and recommended to the academic council, University of
the Poonch Rawalakot AJ&K for further action with following changes.
Course titled Business English with course code (BBA-112) offered in 1st Semester
has been replaced with course titled Functional English with same course code.
The course titled Introduction to Information Technology with course code (BBA-
114) offered in 1st Semester has been replaced with the course titled Application of
Computer Software in Business with same course code.
The course titled Report Writing Skills with course code (BBA-125) offered in 2nd
Semester has been replaced with course titled Business Report Writing with same
course code.
The course titled Introduction to Behavioral Sciences with course code (BBA-235)
offered in 3rd Semester has been replaced with course titled Organizational
Behavior with same course code.
The course titled Statistical Inferences with course code (BBA-242) offered in 4th
Semester has been replaced with Course titled Business Research Methodology
with same course code.
The course titled Research Methodology with course code (BBA-351) offered in 5th
Semester has been replaced with course titled Inferential Statistics with same
course code.
The course titled Organizational Behavior with course code (BBA-353) offered in
5th Semester has been replaced with course titled Corporate Social Responsibility
with same course code.
The course titled Entrepreneurship with course code (BBA-361) offered in 6th
Semester has been replaced with course titled SME Management with same course
code.
 The course titled SME Management with course code (BBA-471) offered in 7th
Semester has been replaced with course titled Entrepreneurship with same course
code.
The course titled Financial Institutions with course code (BBA-472) offered in 7th
semester has been replaced with course Financial Markets & Institutions with same
course code.
The course titled Application of Computer Software in Business Management with
course code (BBA-481) offered in 8th Semester has been replaced with course titled
MS Project Management with same course code.
The noncredit course titled Summer Internship offered in 6th Semester has been
replaced with course titled Business Plan.
11. Agenda Item No. 9 page no. 11 Proposal for approval of replacement of Business
Society ethics (BBA-482) offered as a core course in 8th semester with course titled
Arabic has been approved and recommended to the academic council, University of
the Poonch Rawalakot AJ&K for further action.
